"...the majority on the major vaping forums..." - yeah, you may be right there. But, the majority of ecig users aren't members of the ecig forums. And, do the majority of the members of any of these forums even post? Or do they even really have an opinion of it. Or is it just the same ones that keep jumping in and bashing Blu? SOME of us like the Blu brand here, so what the heck do you care? Do you suppose you have run off a lot of potentially nice people from joining or posting on these forums because of your attitude about their personal choice of PV? There are plenty of people who were looking for something other than the ego-c and the ego-t. Do you go around bashing ego's?

When did I infer that it was better than any of them? I said I prefer my Blu setup for many reasons. It's the only system I use when I am away from home. I don't feel it is inferior to any of them as far as what it is. It's a 236 maH PV. It is what it is. It lasts as long as any 200'ish maH PV would last. It doesn't perform any worse per maH than any of them. But, the Egos and the Riva don't perform any better per maH than the Blu's, either, in my experience. There are pro's and con's to all of them.

Not only does the outcome of your comparison of the Blu with better models not match with the posts of easily thousands of posters on the various vaping sites, reading comprehension must not be your strong suit. I was quite clear that my concern is for the new (possibly silent) person trying to figure out what will get him/her off the death sticks by reading this forum. I trust not only my own experience with the Blu in comparison to most other models but also the thousands of posts I've read from others whose experience and evaluation is the exact opposite as yours. I think you just don't like anyone disagreeing with your buying decisions, where I am concerned that some unknowing new person may think the Blu is just as good as any other model sold. I'm glad it works for you. But if you took the time to do a little research, you would find that there are far more negative reviews on the performance of the Blu than positive and by a factor of around 100 to one.

Well, total noob here...but this is my take on the Blu. The Blu was my "gateway" into vaping, and helped me transition from 1.5 pack a day habit. Are there tons of products out there? Yes....I now own Vapornine 900mAh AMP XL with clearos...and the eGo Twist with a tank...loving all the flavors I'm finding from various juice vendors and really learning alot.....BUT when I am in a more social environment...like at a bar...or a outside cafe..I tend to bring the blu...and its a great convo starters.....( sorry...but bringin my 100mAh eGo twist with a tank just gets me strange looks....)

I have friends with both kr808 and 501....and the blu seems to perform nearly identical to me....I say what ever floats your boat....if you like the blu...great...you have found something to stop smoking with....if you have found something better...great...enjoy.....for me....I will use my amps and twist as my primary vaps......but I do like having a more traditional looking cigarette option for public.....

Your experience is the most common with the Blu and similar models as being a gateway to better performing models. Unfortunately for every one person like yourself, there are probably 10 who just give up and keep smoking. I personally have talked with 12+ people locally who tried quiting with either the Blu or SE or 51 and decided they were too weak, too much of a hassle and too inconsistent. They never looked any further and mostly labeled vaping as just another scam. I would be fine with Blu if they also offered better versions like Volt does so the new person could have options out of the gate. But Blu puts their money into marketing and gimmicks from my observation.

There will always be people who give up or don't quit smoking. There are people who try the "bigger" battery systems who don't quit smoking and/or quit using them because they don't like the muss and fuss, care and feeding of said systems. There are folks who never intend to quit and only use ecigs as a bridge product for things like stays in the hospital or certain events and situations.

Not sure why you think putting money into marketing is a bad thing. It goes a long way to get people to try to quit smoking. Perhaps some will try and not be satisfied and give up and some will seek a different system because they still think there may be something that helps ease their addiction better for them, but there are many people who do quit smoking using Blu and similar cig-a-like systems. I personally think Blu is less of a hassle than using the ego's. Blu is and has improved their product. The original Blu battery was 80 maH, they increased it with their next generation the Premium and again with the Premium 100. They've moved from a 3 piece battery/atomizer/cartridge system to a much easier 2 piece battery/cartomizer system. A lot of consumers like gimmicky things, so the social feature is good for them. You don't have to use it if you don't want to, you simply turn it off. I think it's pretty genius. No reason to put a company down for marketing their product. That's just good business.

Some excellent replies here! Glad I started the thread, I like what I'm seeing on all accounts. All other Big Tobacco mumbo jumbo aside, I'm also glad to see a company with some real marketing power and some real desire to innovate getting behind our beloved ecigs. It also helps that they are an "underdog" of sorts among the BT corporations. It is exciting to think that they might just pull off turning their new toy into a great ecig. Until then I personally won't spend the mulah on such an expensive "cig-like" kit. At least not until they offer PG or a PG-Blend, and better this and that.

And pretty much all of us enjoy gadgets and a little gimmick and accesories. Obviously. We as people in this day and age like addons, upgrades, we want features.

Making generalities like this totally misses the point. There are people who can't quit who have tried every option under the sun. But I'll make it simple for you: based on the thousands of posts on this and other vaping sites on what works better in helping people transition from smoking to vaping permanently, it's easily 100 to one in favor of models with better batteries/more consistency over the Blu model. And just because you can't see any difference in the performance of say a Provari or Silver Bullet or Darwin or even the Gripper or eGo Twist and the Blu doesn't mean that the vast majority who have a good deal of comparative experience don't see the difference in performance. There is more than enough written evidence to support that fact.

You cannot quantify your claims, at all, other than your limited view of the world - these forums. There are many people who never join these forums who use products like Blu and are very successful. Good grief! Blu is a very successful company. They have a very generous return policy - if everyone hated it, they wouldn't be successful. Put Blu down all you want. It's a good product for what it is. Simple, works well for a cig-a-like. I never once claimed it outlasted a bigger battery. Of course it doesn't. But for the maH rating that these batteries are, they are just fine. If you want to spend a lot of money on bigger batteries, go for it, be happy. I'm happy with Blu - get it? There are a lot of people who are happy with Blu - get it? There are some people who are not happy with Blu - get it? There are some people who are not happy with anything - get it? I have no interest in spending a lot of money on a Provari - get it? Why would I when I really like my Blu - get it? I have successfully quit smoking cigarettes, using Blu. I've gone from smoking 2 to 3 packs of cigs per day, to none since the second day of using Blu. I've also successfully reduced my nic level from 24 down to mostly 0 nic and will soon be at totally 0 nic and some day soon, quitting vaping on a regular basis. Blu has been a wonderful product for me. For some reason that just chaps your hide.

What you don't get is that the Blu sells so many units only due to it's massive marketing outlay, not due to it's performance in comparison to 90% of the models on the market. And since you refuse to actually do the research, you don't get that you are the exception in believing that the Blu is just as good as any other model on the market. I'm glad you are happy in your ignorance and that it worked for you. But for the poor newb reading this forum for the first time, let's hope they don't waste their money and have to buy a second model soon after buying the Blu, like so many other former Blu users have had to. Or worse, just go back to smoking.

That reason is that Jason Healy told wv2win to "take a hike" when he made some suggestion to him on how Blu could improve their product. And he has had a vendetta ever since.

Wow. Well, one could always pony up their own money and build an ecig company to prove him wrong, eh?

The makers of just about every model on the market has already done that and easily outperformed Blu. But since you would rather not do the research and learn what the majority of former Blu users on ECF think, stay blissfully ignorant and continue to lead others to a bottom of the barrel model. You can be the exception on ECF and not strive to help others break free of smoking.

You are confused, as usual. I did suggest that Healy make a better product and he stated that "Blu out-performs every model on the market". That makes him someone who disseminates false information which doesn't bother me at all other than how that level of deceit harms people's chance of breaking free of smoking. But it makes sense that you would like someone who misleads others being as people with shared traits tend to find common cause.

Hey, isn't Blu 510 threaded? Even though it may not be the best thing since sliced bread, it is compatible with other devices. I think we can all agree that anything to get people to come here, and onto bigger and better products is not a bad thing. Every other company may out-perform the Blu, but how many of them are out there trying to out-advertise it? They're doing something for the vaping world that mom and pop shops can't. You can't really hate them when you think of it like that.
