I have a new 252 box mod
It's a parallel box
With vtc5 batts
It has a Airek atty on it
Just asking what would be a good starting point for builds on this box..
I'm upgrading from a 18650 stingray tube mod...I like using kanthal and I like for the builds to ohm out at .3 but I just don't know what guage to start with I'm not a newbie using mods but I am with box mods any suggestions would be a great help

Best I can tell you..
Coil wrapping
Change the values as required. You can set the resistance and change wire types and gauge
Claptons will work better at 26 or even 28 ga as the core wire.
Personally, i only use a single cell mech, but i use those tools to prebuild my coils. Of course, you have to know what resistance is relatively safe (no build is 100% safe).

This was a big help...it's deffinately easier to use than a lot of other calculators I've used...I think I might start with 22 guage as a starting point and maybe get a few feet of 24 guage to try out a twisted coil...in your opinion would it be better to get one of the ohm reader units or just get a digital multimeter to check the coils?
A DMM, by far. You can measure voltage & continuity too. Which you will find handy in vape problem solving. 25$ will find you a nice one..

I wouldn't dream of using someones anecdotal evidence when building coils on a mechanical/ or unregulated mod..
no, and you shouldn't. I wouldn't. I figure it is on me to take responsibility for my builds, so i have to know what to expect. I don't care what those idiots on youtube do. Hell, I saw one vape pee.. I couldn't even feel sorry for him.. rolling on the floor, in stomach spasms, retching his insides out..

Agree completely.

only use Claptons when i use a dripper. I ude 2 28 gauge Kanthal core wrapped with 30 or 32 gauge Kanthal. Don't have the container handy.

Could not say it better or agree more.

Use a ohms reader so you know the resistance and study Ohms law so you know how much amps you are trying to pull out of the batteries.

Habitually stressing batteries is not a good career move.
