Version 6.0.1.1 is available for download. It includes:

1. An internal change that I hope nobody will need to use. If an exception is thrown I create a text file that can be sent to me to aide in troubleshooting the problem.
2. I added the ability to "remember" previously entered vendors and allow you to select from a dropdown list. This change is in both the shopping list window and the ingredient window. (see the ReadMe for more details).
3. When printing a recipe also print the "last made on" date.

Okay, so I tried to duplicate a flavor so that I could give it 2 different costs from 2 different Vendors, and I got an error. Is there any way around this without having to change the name of the flavor?

Not currently, ingredient name plus manufacturer makes the ingredient unique. Duplicate ingredients cannot be entered.

Mine still crashes randomly, it seems it's related to accessing flavors when building recipes. Where is that text it creates and How can I send that file

Is there a OS X MAC version anywhere in the future for this? Myself, as well as MANY others would love that!!
I asked the same question months ago. This was his response," The links to download are below. There is an option to export information to Excel (Open office) and I am working on an option to create reports in Word (Open office) but I have a fix that I am working on for the Word option. It is currently trying to launch MS Word but that will change in the next version."
I tried to download both ways and there is no link for open office. Both have exe. files that, of course mac can't read. So I guess we're out of luck again!

The file is placed in the window temp directory. On Windows 8 the file will be place in "C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Temp\JuiceCalculatorCrash-MMDDYYYY_HHMMSS.txt".
Please email the file to JuiceCalculator@Austin.rr.com.

There is not a MAC version. I don't own a MAC nor am I familiar with the development environment on a MAC. If I had the time and the money I would purchase a MAC and attempt to learn their development environment and recreate the calculator in that environment. I hope to retire in a couple of years, maybe then I will have the time.

Your question was related to open office. The calculator does create files (reports) in Excel and Word format that can be opened in an Open Office environment but first you must install the calculator (which is for Windows only) so that you can generate the reports. The calculator itself does not run in "Open Office".

All ingredients entered must have a unique name and the name is a combination of the ingredient name and the manufacturer name.
One thing that you could do is to create two manufactures, for example create "The Flavor Apprentice from Vendor1" and "The Flavor Apprentice from Vendor 2". You could then add 2 ingredients with the same ingredient name but assign the first ingredient to the first manufacturer and assign the second ingredient to the second manufacturer.

I have had a few dozen crashes when adding ingredients for a recipe. I have my flavors categorized by types such as fruits, creams, nuts, etc. and it crashes when going up a level and then selecting the item. I find that if I go slow there is less chance of a crash. It will also happen if I change a flavor within a recipe when I go up a level. But looking in the folder you reference I don't see it in the temp folder on Windows 10 and I have v6.0.1.1. But it does create an OVS5FF8.tmp file at the moment of the crash 1 kb in size.

I would like to also mention that despite the crashes in that area only, I am enjoying using JuiceCalculator and feel it is the best out there. The inventory capability and ability to use custom weights for each flavor is awesome. I also use the shopping list, Vendor, and the manufacturers lists too but I haven't figured out a way to remove a Vendor once it is added. I have only been using it for about 2 weeks but I like the way you built it.

trueagle and JimScotty0, can you both send me your xml file? I can work on recreating the issue and do the info gathering that HotRod needs. Feel free to remove the recipes you do not want others to view but leave at least one sample recipe with a random ingredient or two. Don't remove ingredients please, as I need those to try to recreate the issue you are having with ingredients.
