Tuesday Post #1 Setup:

900mAh Boge Leo with innokin Leo Twin Coil LR 1.5ohm Clearomizer. While I think this clearomizer looks pretty goofy, it is HUGE, holds a ton of juice, and produces the best plumes of vapor ever. I don't know what it is about this clearomizer that allows it to give such weighty hits, but I love it. Just don't really love the cleaning of it, but I don't like cleaning anything. I went to town painting both the battery and this clearo with several coats of clear gold glitter nail polish (if you care to know, it's Wet 'n' Wild's 435E Gold Dust). I think the golden glitter compliments the already gaudy appearance of this setup. Forgot to photograph it with the diamond end cap though.

So unfortunately I dropped my Lavatube a few days ago and I've been on a mission to find vinyl to wrap around it. At first I was going to order a sheet of adhesive vinyl online, but, since I don't have a credit card of my own, I try to limit my online transactions. I was going to buy a life-size sticker of Justin Beiber, and use his black jeans to wrap my Lavatube, but it was $10 and I figured I could find something better. I went to my local craft store and asked for adhesive vinyl. No cigar. They referred me to the adhesive felt isle and I ended up buying 2 sheets of that. Unfortunately it didn't work out... It was too stiff to stay curved around my LT. Next, I went to the hardware store. I managed to pick up a saddle valve to punch cartos but they didn't have adhesive vinyl. I couldn't believe it! They referred me to "plasti-dip" so I purchased it. $6.99 for a vat of quick dry plastic dip. So, I got it home and tonight I taped up the screen and buttons and dipped my Lavatube into the bottle. Unfortunately, it was a messy disaster. In cutting out the spaces for the screen and buttons, I managed to scratch the device further... So I decided to take some sand paper to it and to make this long story a bit shorter, I'm left with a black Lavatube full of messy patches of brushed aluminum. Great. I plan on finishing the "Scratch Job" until the entire device is brushed aluminum. Yes... This is a perfect example of... DO NOT DROP YOUR PV!!!

--chit chat-- (I hope that's allowed)

What about steel wool to buff the finish?

I could try steel wool after I'm done taking sand paper to the black paint. The Lavatube itself is aluminum, painting over with some type of plastic feeling paint. I'm going to use sand paper to get all of the paint off, and I'll be left with a brushed aluminum finish. I then plan to further mod the finished piece by hand painting it and I'm also going to buy a sticker pack that I had found at the craft store. I may also design a custom blown glass tank for it. It will end up (hopefully) looking nice. It will take a lot of work though. I had planned on selling my lavatube for cheap to put at least $20 toward a Zmax, but I won't be selling my LT in the condition its in right now. I will have to customize everything about it now and it may not appeal to anyone but myself, but, at least I will have fun. :p :) As you can tell, I'm a hands on, artistic, all male tinkerer. lol. I refuse to throw this in the trash. Its a great device and it's insides deserve a nice, visually appealing housing. hehe.
