You say you don't have time to read through all the posts. I say you must MAKE the time to read through them. Read the posts I personally went back for about three years), read the stickies and read the blogs. It's by far the best way to learn. All of your questions have been answered here many times over.

Now you are on the right track; read, absorb, ask, learn, then mix. Then repeat. Your original request was akin to asking someone to summarize all 12,906 threads in this subforum into a few easily digested soundbites, which was frankly a little offensive for someone that has spent lots of hours learning this. The basics are not extremely complex, but there are almost as many ways of doing things as there are contributors to this forum, and no one can say just what will work for you until you have learned enough come up with specific questions.
