HI all,

i'm new to e-vaping, and had some questions

1) they say it's water vapor... but in the ingredient is propilenic glycol[91%] (PG ???) and 2 flavours (anetol[0.5%] and etilvanillin[4.4%]). i think it resembles water vapor, but from the chemicals inside it cant be water vapor but glycol vapor(much different i think). is it health harmful?

2)i own an e-cig called "life". from the models i see in the forum looks a lot like the mini e-cig but it does have a much shorter atomizer. this brands sells the recharges for 15€ for 5 pieces which is quite a lot. i read something in this forum about refilling with homemade liquids, i ask myself if i can do it too with my "life" e-cig or it is perilous for it's maintenance.

3)my e-cig doesn't do so much smoke as i want, since the first day... what can i do to make more smoke without getting and head-ache for puffing for too long?

4)how do i tell if it runs dry? because i feel it last a lot less than 20 cigs..
i take of the cartridge when the smoke become hard to pull out in fear of burning the atomizer

5) the atomizer has some metallic-strains inside... when i smoke i seem to hear some "fry-ing" inside the atomizer, and when i took off the cartridge i saw this metallig strains are much less than when i bought it(like it burned or consumed them?) . Am i doing something wrong and harming the atomizer? another thing... those metallic-like strains when "burn" or "atomize" :p ... arent them harmful for us? i'm in fear of vaping chemicals and passing from tobacco to something bad

thanks for your time, and if you are asking yourself i'm from italy where e-cig is at their first steps :D
i looked around on the forum on search of answers and is very rich, my best regards ^^

It is not just Water Vapor--Studies need to be done

Not farmilar with this model but I am sure someone else is

Sounds like you really need to try another model like the DSE901

4)how do i tell if it runs dry? because i feel it last a lot less than 20 cigs..

The Cartridge should be moist and you can use e-liquid to top it off--no smoke means you need a new cartridge or you need to top it off....

So long as there is no foul taste--the sound is just the atomizer "cooking" the e-liquid. You do not want to smoke dry cartridges as you wil start to burn the core up--not a good think to inhale-

Hope that helps--Sun:)

Hi Sirian, welcome to the forum.

In the vapour there is propylene glycol, nicotine, flavourings, water and alcohol usually. We think it's probably safe but we don't know for sure because no testing has been done. You can use eliquid to refill cartridges or make your own - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/5066-eliquid-recepies.html

To get good vapour make sure your battery is properly charged and your atomiser is not too wet or dry. If it still doesn't work well then there is something wrong with the device.

There are lots of good tips here - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/2562-helpful-links-videos-new-user.html

Hey man wassup =)

I'm from Italy too, glad I'm not the only one in our good old country to use this device and hopefully raise is head when the tough times will come. With this in mind, i suggest you to take a look at the Mi Manda Raitre website, they made a report about e-cigs on friday evening, i missed it and i was told they weren't speaking in favor of the devices, and i hope they will put the report on the website asap since i wasn't able to see it.

I suggest you to give a good read around the forums, since it looks like you have many questions unanswered, but here is some quick answers to your biggest concerns:

PG, Propylene Glycol, is indeed the main component of the e-liquids. Studies have already been done on what exalhed myst is, and found it wasn't harmful, but as you said it's not water vapour, but PG vapour. There are many threads speaking on PG, and from everything i have read it looks safe. My only concern at this moment is the one of any residue/film in the lungs, since pg is really sticky. Keep in mind that there are other base components of e-liquids, like Glycerin (even thicker, produces more vapor) and now PolyPropylene Glycol seems to be present in new formulas.
The life brand seems not to receive positive reviews, but with the ecigs in general it looks like you must also have a bit of luck. This forum has plenty of infos on the various models, i own only the EVO and i think it's good, but obviously cannot make a comparison.
And NO, a cartridge doesn't last nowhere near 20 cigs, those are false claims that many not-so-serious manufacturers make. Depending on the model, it lasts around 5-10 cigs. A neat trick that i learnt lurking around the net is to take out the little sponge in your used cartridges, stuff 'em all in a sirynge and squeeze 'em to get the remaining juice out. You can use this juice to top off your cartridges, or to carefully drip a couple drops onto your atomizer and start vapin away.
Ciao!

1. as its been said, you're right its not just water vapor. as kate mentioned, none of us really know for sure wether its safe. as for me, i feel its safer than smoking analogs so here i am.

2. are you by chance referring to "InLife" ? If so, yes they are expensive. I'm not sure about compatability, but perhaps by following that link a more experienced member would be able to identify the model # and give you compatability options.

3. i noticed w/ my penstyle, one of my batteries makes it work like a dream... eeeasy draw, loads of vapor. my other battery is a real .... and makes me work harder. do you notice any difference between your batteries?

4. i'm not sure if this is the "safest" way, but when i think my cart is dry i pull it out and poke it w/ my pinky finger. if its dry, its obviously done. if its still damp, i wash my hands, and troubleshoot from there (eg drain the atomizer).

5. i'm not sure what that could be... has this been an issue since the begining or did it come about after time?

wish i could be more of help,

elle

HI all,

i'm new to e-vaping, and had some questions

1) Has been covered

2)i own an e-cig called "life". from the models i see in the forum looks a lot like the mini e-cig but it does have a much shorter atomizer. this brands sells the recharges for 15€ for 5 pieces which is quite a lot. i read something in this forum about refilling with homemade liquids, i ask myself if i can do it too with my "life" e-cig or it is perilous for it's maintenance.

you can refill just has to either drip the cart wool or remove the wool and let it soak in bowl

3)my e-cig doesn't do so much smoke as i want, since the first day... what can i do to make more smoke without getting and head-ache for puffing for too long?

Might need more juice or charge on battery also could be a dying atomiser

4)how do i tell if it runs dry? because i feel it last a lot less than 20 cigs..
i take of the cartridge when the smoke become hard to pull out in fear of burning the atomizer

if you can see the filler in the cart it will not look moist trust me there is a difference. or when the first puff from a fresh cart no longer looks like the next puff

5) the atomizer has some metallic-strains inside... when i smoke i seem to hear some "fry-ing" inside the atomizer, and when i took off the cartridge i saw this metallig strains are much less than when i bought it(like it burned or consumed them?) . Am i doing something wrong and harming the atomizer? another thing... those metallic-like strains when "burn" or "atomize" :p ... arent them harmful for us? i'm in fear of vaping chemicals and passing from tobacco to something bad

the straineds are normal they help to wick the juice to the atomiser when the cart is moist. i also suggest you hold the batt end lower then the mouth piece to help the juice wick down the cart

i really appreciated your help and your answers, in these days i read a LOT of things in this site which i found very useful(like the studies about the antispetic effect of PG which tranquilized me a lot about any risks).

Looking around about the toxicity of nicotine, i think i will give up at least for now to do my personal mixes and recipes, and will try some pre-made concoction like from totally wicked (which i found in this forum). My cig really looks a lot like dse-901 (i think maybe the only difference is in the name printed in the cig XD)
i post here a link so for some expert could identify at least visually if my guesses are right : www[dot]metropoltrading[dot]com

@ Kate: i dont know if u are a mod here, but i see u in a lot of posts, and i must say this site rocks!!!!

@Smo: really glad another italian is here ^^ thanks for your advices ! do u refurnish here in italy or buy outside country? as i said my only contact now is an english seller
which i found in this site which has good prices i think

@Elle: yes really expensive... they are named only "Life" but they costed 120€ and the pack contained 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, 1 normal recharger, 1 usb recharger, and 10 cartridges (of which only 3 remains after 4 days XD ) for the problem of the smoke, i noticed that when i put a new cartidge the smoke is good again.. i think it's only a matter of the abundance of the liquid.. that "inLife" brand is european also? i have some thinking it's only a re-brand name of dse-901, sold in franchise to some reseller for specific countries...

@Lordmage: thanks for the advices, yes that of keeping low the battery end is a good tip and i'm following it ^^

some other questions now:

with a 30ml e-liquid, how many cartridge could i practically recharge?

what is the average(apart luck) expected life of a battery and an atomizer?

i noticed also that leaving the cig in the night in open room reduces the life of the
cartridge, some advice on how to keep it from drying?

again many thanks to all for your precious welcome :D
