Hi, my name is Bob and I've smoked cigarettes for 47 years. I haven't quit completely yet, but I've been vaping more everyday and I'm realy starting to enjoy it. I know I should just stop the cigs now, but I hate wasting what I have and I have a few packs left. I'm hoping to get the information and support needed from this forum to make this work form me.

Welcome BobNor!

Hang in there.. when I first started vaping it didn't take for me at first. But I stuck with it and have been analog-free for over 5 months now (I was a PAD smoker for 22 years). Everybody has their own pace, and the most important advice I can give is find what works for you and don't give up!

Bob,
I too am from St. Louis and I have not had a cig in close to 2 years!! It has been a journey. I found some great folks at the shops around town. the guys in St. peters have been real good as well as the folks over off of Page. They were a good place to start and get comfortable with where I was headed... The info here helped as much as anything!

Welcome Bob!

It's all about the cigarettes you're *NOT* smoking anymore. You'll get to where you want to be, when you want to get there :)

This is way off-topic, but you look quite a bit like a gentleman for whom I used to work when I lived in the St. Louis area (close to 30 years ago). I'm presuming that's you in your Avi? You have the same smile (and glasses) that I remember.... Would "METS" ring any bells with you?

Welcome, you'll find tons of great information on the site here, and plenty of fantastic folks willing to share their knowledge. Congrats on cutting back on the stinkies. Don't worry about rushing yourself off completely. You'll know when the time is right. the important thing is you are cutting back and taking the steps to get off. Some people are able to switch immediately, some aren't, both are winners who are beating a long and strong habit.

Also, you 'might' find that making the switch when you're ready is better if you have a few packs left over. At least for me it was. They (at that time) were like a security blanket. I knew they were there so I didn't have a panic feeling that I wouldn't have them if I needed them. Of course, there was no need, and I actually still have them in a bag. Probably should throw them out now, they are likely awefully stale and nastier than just normally they would be.

I live in Crestwood and we have a great little vape shop just around the corner from us on the corner of Watson and Grant. Pretty close to Grants Farm. They mix their own juice to order and I'm really impressed with the flavors and quality. I've visited a couple of other shops in the area and this one is by far the best so far.

We've lived here for about 34 years, so we may have met in the past, but I've worked at Hussmann for 30 years and I'm not in charge of anyone. I was a "Boss" when I was in the Air Force 35 years ago and decided I don't like messing with other peoples lives. As far as the METS go. I grew up in NJ near NYC and the NY Mets were quite big back then. They are the only Mets that ring a bell. You never know though, we may have crossed paths at one time. My memory isn't what it used to be.
