Don't feel too bad Uma.....I did the same thing. I got mine off with a tiny screwdriver ....like the size in the cheap eyeglass repair kit (which I also use for coil and wick tinkering). I scooped it off from the bottom.

so... okay... while we're on the subject....
how do I remove that extra 0-ring? I've tried and tried since the day I got it, and went experimental happy with all the (now I know they're EXTRAS) 0-rings. I've tried to take it back off since day one, honest I have, but... it's on there good! My cap won't twist all the way down because of it, which has been no problem, I just untwist and line up with my finger under the wick. But... I'd really like it to be normal like everyone elses instead of like the dummiesRus way...

Wow, thanks for all the tips for removal of the accidental 0-ring. I'll try them all tomorrow. and thanks for having empathy, it always feels better knowing others were in the same boat one time or another.

EDIT!!! The fork worked right off the bat!! haha, I was afraid I'd "hurt" my DID, but I DiDn't hurt it at all. Now the hole lines up perfectly with the wick like it should. Thank you guys!!!!

While we're on that topic, I've heard that someone intentionally uses the extra o-ring like Uma:
-extra protection against leaks.
-precise lining up of the hole/wick.
-extra space up top for the wick.

Whatever floats your boat I say.

I put mine together using NO O-rings inside the center poll, not a drop of liquid has come out. I thought it might short because of this but its not and dry as the current Drought

Please tell me what I am doing wrong... I am not getting the flavor on my Shorty DID that I get on my Line V2. here are my steps and maybe someone could call me an idiot and solve my problem....

Cut 400 30mmx30mm
burn it flat before I roll it over my stove (I don't have a torch does that matter?) I use the stove for my line v2 mesh???
Stove is okay. Do not quench during this process.
I bend a small piece on both the sides that will be on the top and outer side of the wick
I roll it with the wrench that came with the kit
I burn it 3 times and don't quench it This is where you should quench it each time, dab on papertowel .
Next step is to juice it up, light it with a lighter, let it go out by itself, repeat 3x. (this seals in flavor, gunks it up a bit).

I am not getting any shorts it is just the flavor and vapor I am not happy with. The above steps will solve your flavor issue. If it doesn't, you can try the double wick that Matt (MWA) came up with. As far as the vapor, that would be in the coil wrapping ... not too tight, not too loose, ... many use the zigzag paper trick that Scott shared. (it helps to slide the coil around until it's not touching, ect, without messing up the oxidation, plus it helps to establish the right amount of space between coil and wick after it burns off).

I've been wrapping the wicks slightly conical. Just enough so it binds up on the coil before it bottoms out. This way when the coil gunks up and I need to clean it before the tank is empty. I just pull the wick out and dry burn the coil clean.

On another note.
Having the top of the coil sandwiched by the lower two nuts. I've been able to play around with the height of the top nut. What I've noticed is that if I lower the nut I seem to get a more intense, almost sickly sweet, juice flavor with less vapor. By raising the nut I get a more palatable flavor with increased vapor.

I may also just be imagining it.

It is a tank insert mod from Red Sky Mods. According to the folks on that thread, the DID will fit just fine.

My friends, I have some bad news. My luck has not good in passed days and I make some mistakes.
Big problem now with new courier service for delivery -TNT and my assistant who send the orders
is now very sick and does not be at work. All orders until today will go with TNT
I have now to make and send all orders myself a few days. NO TIME.
I will try not to close the website for new orders for 1 week so
for me to catch them up.
I am so sorry to you all but no possible way. Please be patience with me and I

My assistant also make it very big mistake on website but my blame for no
see for myself. 6 euro delivery charge for regular delivery

Putting the wire between the bottom and middle screw lets me adjust the top screw for airflow help allot.
