hey there...
Tony from Salt Lake City here. So I have been trying to quit smoking, earnestly, for the past two years. The patch makes me want to hit people and gum sucks. I did have good luck with the Nicotrol inhaler, actually quit for three months, then had to put an Ikea thing together and got so frustrated that I started again!! The inhalers jumped from $165 to $195 and insurance doesnt cover smoking cessation stuff (???), but it didnt work as well this time, even while wearing the patch.
My dad had bought a Direct E-cig starter kit for my step-mom but she didnt like it, so he mailed to me. I HAVENT HAD A REAL CIGARETTE SINCE!! (and I havent had the urge to park my Harley on anyone either!!)
Now I have gone a little crazy...In fear the the atomizer on the Direct was dying, I went in search of alternatives:
At the mall I picked up a local brand called GreenNicotine, but I didnt like the taste, plus the cartomisers are expensive...
on EBay I won a Health starter kit, and just got it today...so far i like the taste, and its small. It may be my work "smoke"...lol (and the package says "Per cartridge can be smoked around 200 mouths" engrish so funny!!)
from Jason at Electronicstix.com (actually drove up to Ogden to the retail shop):
Ego-T (pieced together) starter kit: FRIGGEN LOVE IT!! The battery and 1 tank lasted from 11AM to the next morning! (charged the battery over night, but still had juice in the tank). The 2.6% (26mg) CML juice I picked is awesome!!
Joye 510 starter kit: wasnt impressed with the vapor until I added a drop to the atomizer...wow what a difference!!
The battery sucks, only lasted an hour, but I vape hard and often (like I smoked).
Now for the horror story!!
So Thursday I drove to Reno for the weekend to see my daughter. I decided that filling all 5 tanks, plus 5 cartridges for the 510 would be sufficient for 4 days, since the Ego-T had done so well Wednesday, and I left the bottle of juice home. BIG MISTAKE!
During the 8 hour drive to Reno I managed to dust a tank, and half a tank before I went to bed. the 510 carts kinda tasted like crap (Jason said they were crap when sold them to me for $2/box (probably his cost)). So Friday I got up and started hitting head shops looking for some juice to keep the tanks full (Ironically, I am a SOBER BIKER, and all of the tshirts I wear have this (in some form) printed on them...so here I am wandering into head shops wearing big adverts stating I am sober), finally after 2 head shops and three liquor stores, I find some juice: NRL 24mg CHERRY.
Not all liquids are the same!! This crap tasted like someone had poured cherry flavored dish soap down my throat..YUCK!! Though it helped with the nicotine craving, it seemed to have burned the roof of my mouth (yes, I have blisters!). Then I got the bright idea Saturday to call Tinder Box, and they stock juice, and tons of it! I found a 24mg "Turkish Blend", again, not all liquids are created equal! this stuff isnt as thick as the stuff I got at electronicstix, and smokes quick without much vapor, but its better than cherry dish soap!!
So lesson learned: Never leave home without the trusted bottle!!
side note: while doing a google search "liquid nicotine reno nv" a website pulled up (will remain nameless) they said the were based in Reno and gave an 800 number. I called the 800 number and it goes to a fax/answering machine. I plugged the address into my GPS, it lead me to an apartment complex, and no advertising or signs in the window or on the door of the "Suite" number (apartment) so I didnt knock, though the website said I was there during "operating days and time". I also sent an email to the address on the site, and yet to have received an answer (another reason I prefer face to face business).
I would love to hear from and possibly meet anyone in the Salt Lake or surround areas...
