Just picked up an e cig today. I went with the eGo CE5+. I upgraded to the 1100 maH battery, and upgraded one of the two plastic tanks to a metal one. These thing have changed quite a bit since the last time I tried them seven years ago. The last one I had had a "filter" section you pulled off and used an eyedropper to fill the cotton. I got frustrated with the lousy capacity and gave it up. This metal tank I to is huge.

I am a pack a day smoker, plus I smoke one pipe a day. I am not giving up the pipe, as that is my relaxing time, but I need to get rid of these cigarettes. So, I will nose around a bit to try to not ask too many stupid questions. I look forward to discussions here.

A little word of warning, should you be successful in giving up the smokes to vaping, you may find that you no longer like the taste of tobacco and not care for your pipe any longer.

Oh, I hope not- I have too much tobacco cellaring (aging in sealed mason jars for the non pipe smoker). I smoke cigs and pipes for two different reasons. Pipes help me relax and sit down for an hour when the day is out, and the tobacco actually tastes good. Ciggys keep me from killing people . Seriously though, thanks for the welcome.

Welcome, OC. What we find here is that many people eventually find that they don't need tobacco anymore after vaping for a while. I thought I did need a few cigs a day after vaping took away most of my 2 PAD habit. I went for two years thinking I needed one with coffee and 1 after each meal. When I decided to try quitting those last few, it was miraculously easy. I just didn't smoke anymore and didn't miss them as long as I could vape.

There are also pipes manufactured with ecig technology. Google around and you will find examples. The battery goes into the bowl and a cartridge or other mechanism is in the stem.

On one of the other forums I belong to, we have a fine tobacco section. Someone there mentioned that there is Latakia flavored juice. I am a fiend for Latakia in my pipe tobacco, so I need to check it out. Thanks for the welcome.

On edit- nice avatar. I love Les Pauls. My uncle stole mine from me years ago, and I haven't touch a guitar since.

Get back up to a back up!

Some extra tanks (EVOD, PROtank, Mini-Protank, etc).
Have different flavors (that you like) filled and ready to go.
Have at least 2 extra batteries. (Charged and ready to go.)

Order some more different flavors (that sounds good to you). Don't order big bottles yet til you find the ones you like.

I will. I have a metal and the stock plastic tank. I got extra atomizers for each. On payday I am going to get another battery and charger. Thanks for the advice.
