Hi folks,

I've been vaping for about a month now. I was a 2 pack a day Marlboro smoker. I haven't had one since Xmas.
I started vaping with an Ecto 1100. I started looking for something different. I considered the eversmoke ecig and the White Cloud. After doing some more research I decided to go all the way so I ordered a provari today. I stumbled upon this site while doing my research.

All I can say is wow. There is a ton of info here. I can read this stuff for weeks!!

just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm open to any advice you pros may have.

That was a huge step!! all i can say is with that beautiful battery make sure you get an RBA and not just any regular clearomizer. You will be putting that Provari to waste if you did that. I would get the Kayfun or the RSST. Those will give you CLOUDS of vape.

Thanks. I figured why try the little stuff, might as well just go straight to the top, lol. With saving so much money not buying regular cigs the provari wasn't a huge deal price wise. The kit comes with the protank 2 I think???? I'm not sure what RBA is or any other terminology but I'm still researching, lol. I definitely want a good clearomizer.

Welcome to ECF. That's a huge jump and it seems everyone sings praise about Provari. Like mentioned earlier You'll want a nice RBA to go with it. I would agree with the Kayfun but not so much with the RSST. I only say that because my first venture in to rebuilding was with a genesis and it was a nightmare. If you don't want to blow a ton of money on a RBA I would suggest something like the IGO-L or W. They are cheap(price) work well and are a great way to break in to building your own coils. Lightning vapes sells 100' spools of kanthal for a great price so you have plenty of wire to experiment with until you find a way to coils that works best for you. Best of luck with your new Provari I hope it helps you stay away from cigarettes.

I think you will do nicely with the Protank and a Provari. Protank has been a very popular clearo. I also like the Aspire series and there is an even newer one people are raving about called the Aspire Nautlis which is a bit pricier.

And, it seems to me, that no matter what fancy "topper" one uses, there is always room for a good clearo in one's kit. It may be fun to pick up a few different "toppers" so you can have different flavors of liquid to rotate with easily. I found that pretty important for me when I was starting out and finding the flavors that worked best for making the change from "ash taste" to vape.

Have fun and be sure and ask questions.

Thanks again everyone.

One quick question. What's a good quality tank I should look into for the provari. I don't want to deal with rebuildables. I was checking out the kayfun that someone recommended on this thread, is that a rebuildable? I can't tell.

Ya, it's a rebuildable. There's so many different tanks and that is usually the part where you need to experiment to find what works best for you. Protanks are popular (and unpopular if you see the hating threads). A good quality cartotank is a consistent, flavorful vape once you learn to prime the carto correctly.

The Kayfun is a rebuildable. There are several versions, clones and price ranges.

The hottest new player on the block for clearo's -- the Aspire Nautilus. Or -- perhaps the Kanger Aero.

I haven't tried either yet, as I've been doing find with the Aspire BCC which comes in a few different size configurations and my well loved carto-tanks.

And one more thing --- I know the terms can get confusing. Though it's called a Protank -- in my mind it's in the clearomizer category of "toppers".
