Greeting everyone

Been a 1 1/2 PAD smoker for far longer than I care to admit too.

I've tried just about every method out there to kick the habit and failed every time.

2 weeks ago I walked into a local vaping store and left with the EVOD starter kit and 10 mls of 24 mg tabacco flavored e-juice. The strength and flavor was on the advice of the employee.

IMO the flavor reminded me of what licking an ashtray would taste like and the strength was too high. Dizziness and nausea happened.

I've now settled on a few flavors I like and 18 mg strength.

I wish I was one would could say I tossed the analogs on day 1 of vaping but can't. Despite the fact that I hate smoking, I can't seem to clear the hump

I have cut my habit in half and am getting lower daily.

And refuse to let analogs beat me this time.

The past few days I've developed a sore throat / cough and from what I've read..this is normal??

Welcome to ECF Yankez! :)

Yeah, I was one of those that had a hard time switching too. Took over three months and had to go up to 24mg. I was too much but it did get me over that hump and I cut back down in a month or so.

On here we only count the cigarettes you don't smoke so you are doing well. Most people keep a higher nicotine juice around for those times when the urge is especially strong. You will have to find what works for you. You're doing this for the long run results, not so you can you quite right now and then possibly start again later. You made a good decision, you're doing well so please don't get down on yourself.

I also has the rough throat thing going on and found a bit of yogurt, ice cream or the like sort of coated my throat and made it feel better. Remember to drink a lot of water, vaping really dehydrates you.

Good luck with the new adventure!

my experience has been that I generally do not care for tobacco-flavored e-juice. If you're interested, I can share the names of some blends I do like.

As for the throat issues I've found that certain flavors, nicotine strengths, and even how high I have the voltage on my twist battery affect how I react to the inhale and how my throat feels after a day of vaping.

I've also read about PG allergies, but not sure if that's a possible cause or not.

It seems to take a jolt to get off cigarettes. You are probably overdoing everything, but it is also probably working, although you are paying for it with a physical reaction. Now you know it is an alternative try moderating the amount of actual vapor you are ingesting. Imagine quitting cigarettes by chain-smoking cigars and you'll know what I mean.
