Hey all...just thought I'd post a quick introduction.

Been off the cigarettes for about 5 months now and off nicotine completely(0mg e juice). vaping has become a hobby for me now. I love building coils, trying new flavors, and the wide variety of devices there are. I can't get enough of it.

I currently own a Vamo V5 (so I don't have to drip and drive lol). I use an Aspire Nautilus on the Vamo. I have a K100 that I bought as my first mod after I started on the little ego style battery. The K100 has been a real champ and before I got the Vamo I used my Nautilus with the K100. Now I use an igo-w and a helios clone on the K100 (not happy with the clone). I just ordered an authentic Panzer mod a couple days ago and can't wait to give it a go.

Here's the story with the helios. I recently went to a brick and mortar vape shop looking for a nice new RDA (specifically with the T style positive post) that the helios has. The owner pulled out lots of RDA clones for me to look at. I saw the helios and picked it up for about $20. I forgot to get the needle size allen key to tighten the posts then ended going back to the store to get the allen key or possibly trade it in (completely unused) and get a non-clone RDA (an upgrade for me and more money for them); I could tell this clone was a piece of junk. I was also unhappy with the post holes because I wanted to build coils with 20g kanthal. The store told me all sales are final but they could drill the post holes for an additional $5...didn't really have much of a choice as it was relatively unusable. Now the center post is loose and spins freely in the RDA. I will probably never buy another clone again.

I'm kind of upset they wouldn't take the RDA back...but am unsure as to whether or not my anger is justified.

Sorry for the long winded intro; lol. I've been lurking here for a while and have learned a lot from the posts on this forum.

Had one more question...

was going to post this in the rebuildables section but, alas, not enough posts yet haha

Anyway, I mentioned that I've been building with 20g kanthal. Other than the Mephisto RDA can anyone give me suggestions of other RDAs that would be able to accommodate 20g kanthal? I really don't want to spend $120 on a device that doesn't have what I want.

Its new person purgatory, post 5 drags then you (and I also a newbie on here...) can post else where. As for accommodating 20 ga... I haven't seen any, you might ask the JFK builders.

Welcome to ECF Todd, Anger totally justified! I don't know rebuilding but I do know customer service.

As you said - unused, unsuitable for your purpose and you were looking to buy an upgrade. The guy was not only a jerk he was a fool.

By following a stupid rule he's lost the business of a hobbyist with expensive taste. That's not how you stay in business.

He's also managed to get himself written up in a forum with about a million readers. There's a reason they say the customer is always right.

Good luck with the rebuilding, there're some pretty sharp folks here that can help you out.

Yeah, if it wasn't built or vaped, the guy was crazy not to take it back. That Being said, since it was a B & M, next time you'll have a better eye for crap and not crap. Those are the only two types of clone made, and qc can make any clone crap.

I went into the first vape shop in town, say the Big Kayfun, and liked the build, so went home and bought it for half what he wanted.

Do remember my first Authentic Mech, the Stingray Copper Black. Still my favorite mech. Got the copper infinite clone stingray, not the same, switch & magnets weak, and small lock pin, that would lock mod in firing mode. Also the locking ring threads were much finer on the clone, making like 8 rev's from extremes while authentic is like 2-3 rev's max.

Did get the magnet and pin upgrades from Fat Daddy's , and let me tell you, these are some of the strongest mod mags I've seen. Can lift an VTC5 out of the Sting. Overhauled switch's on the Nemi and both rays.

Now, I kind of shop backwards. Since the latest and greatest always come out before the clone, I buy authentic gear first. Then if the clone looks like it can be almost as or made as good, I'll get it. Sometimes get a great piece, sometimes, umm, spare parts, yeah, waste not vape not, or something like that. Never know when a screw, o-ring or nut will come in handy.

Have only felt violated by one authentic, the Orchid. Really disappointed with it. But still, that's like 1 bummer out of 12, damn fine odds if you ask me, clone, 3 acceptable out of 5, would be fine, but it's more like 2 for 5, in the long run. But had 1 was identical, 2 that were close enough that the vape didn't matter. My fave 26650 mod is the tree of life clone. It is what it is. Vape and learn is the name of the game.

Vape long and Prosper.!!!

Well I'm glad that my frustration is justified; if you guys are interested I can post the name of the store if you'd like. The main thing that really frustrates me is that there is no clear signage stating that all sales are final.

The store actually had a black copper stingray clone for sale and I was very very close to buying it...I'm very pleased that I reluctantly passed on it and ended up going with the authentic panzer; picked it up from grandvaporstation.com. Although it wasn't cheap it's something that can last me a lifetime and something to be proud of. I almost compare it to purchasing a nice piece of jewelry or a rare antique/collectable. Those outside of the community may not see what is so great valuable about it but a lot of those in the community can appreciate it.

Anyway, I'm definitely done with clones. I'll save my money for the real deal. I'll definitely be investing in a nice atomizer as soon as I can afford it.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes!
