Must say overwhelmed might be a slight understatement. Between the models and options, most you guys building your own stuff. Had no idea the world of vaping was this serious.

I've been cig free about 3 months this time. I went about 6months when i started vaping last year when i found blu cigs. But vape wasn't really good, charging issues with the box and was just getting tired of the cartridges. Then my charge case broke, so charging was becoming a pain without it. Alot of my friends where trying ejuice trying to get off cigs. So I picked up one of those units, which i guess was just a crappy model because it was hard to hit and alot of the juices kinda tasted like crap (It was all made in china, needless to say all of them are smoking again now). But I was giving it a go because the convience was nice seeing how much juice i had left and the ease of refilling it, compared to the guessing game of cartridges. Until I managed to snap that ecig in half. With no charge box for the blue, I ended up back smoking cigs and couldn't manage to get back on the blu, vap just wasn't doing it. So I wanted to get back on ecigs a couple months ago. Didn't do as much research as I should have for what I was wanting. But I picked up the halo triton, which has been working out good for me so far. But I've already broken 2 of them from putting them in my pocket and they get turned the wrong way and it pops the battery off and those two little wires of course break. Thou I must admit I love Subzero e-juice from Halo. I've posted once before, but the options ppl tossed out where the mpv. But i really don't like the look of the box mod. The provari, which looks awesome but is just a tad out of my price range atm. Tried like 2 ecig shops, but I don't know if I caught them on the wrong day with a employee without any real knowledge or there just hoping on the ecig trend because shops seem to be popping up all over all of a sudden, because all they had to tell me was there all great products. One had to look at the box to tell me anything about them, which would be understandable if you had like 40 different options. But when you got like 6 in the main display case. Know what you trying to sell. So figuring I wouldn't get the answer I needed there. Here I am.

So here what i'm looking for. Cylinder style, looks good( as looks aren't the most important. All my friends still smoking cigs and having something good looking diffently would help convince them to try switching. Still one of the only ppl I see vaping at the bars, conversational starter is never bad thing). Need something that going to function good right out of the starter kit. As the world is vast and the options seem unlimited in this industry. I'm not techincally ......ed, but I don't have the money to invest to try different setup and things atm. Just lost my business and got a new job. Trying to get back on my feet. Need something durable that won't break in my pocket. Something with VV, that way I can adjust it to my liking. On the road for 8hrs at a time, so i'm going to need something with a decent battery or easily swappable battery. Like I said the provari is nice but at $200 tad out of my price range. Look at around a $100. Of course has the options to start playing with different options but from the looks most of that seems to be in the tanks anyway. Most kits probably just come with one tank, so probably a decent tank option to becuase i'll need to have a spare loaded with juice probably since I chain vape

Kayfun Nirvana!
Get an Evic and stick a protank 2 on top. Also be sure you grab a handful of spare attys. This will get you off to a good start for under a hundred. From there you can try different tanks etc. Good luck. Way to go sticking it out. It's been working great for me. I now have a kayfun lite plus on my cheepy evic. Vapor and flavor are outstanding and rebuilding is a breeze and kinda fun too.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you, however I have been vaping now for 2 years and looking to get into my first mod.

For your purposes, a simple ego twist battery (VV) and a decent tank (pro tank, cartomizer tank etc) might fit the build, while having a few extra ego twists charged and ready to go.

Now I am wanting to switch away from the ego battery, and into something more serious. Its a tough choice,as the ego has been beside me for 2 years now.

The Vamo is the most affordable mod on the market, and comes with a lot of features the higher priced AVP's on the market offer. The Tesla and the Itaste SVD seem to be the best built of the vamo style mods, and offer variable wattage which to many is just easier. For about $35 depending on the vendor its a great way to get your feet wet with a big battery. That said, the vamo does not have the best reputation for being the most reliable out there. I know I drop my ego enough, and I don't want to worry about any issues stemming from clumsyness. Which is why I have been highly considering the provari.

I know you mentioned you don't like the boxiness of the MVP, I didn't think I'd like the MVP, either, but I really do. 2-3 day battery life. It'll even charge my phone or ipod if those ran out of "juice". It's not as heavy as I thought it'd be. Not nearly as heavy as the VTR. The price is pretty tough to beat.

I was in the same spot as you and I tried the MVP and haven`t looked back it`s a great device long lasting battery durable and light weight. A lot of B&M have them so you can check them out before you buy. They come with the iclear 30 tank now and a charging cable for around 60 dollars the only thing else you will need to buy is e juice.

Uh-OH - I am sitting here waiting for my Halo Triton to arrive and am a little heartsick hearing you say yours broke just being in your pocket! Can you expand a little bit on your thoughts about that and the circumstances? The Triton gets really good reviews as long as you know up front that it won't work without an adaptor on the 510 threaded accessories. Hope your issue was a rare occurrence!
Anyway, good luck to you -- the folks here are the nicest I have found anywhere - and they will help you sort out where to go from where you are right now. Looking forward to feedback from you about the Triton!

Look into something with passthrough (can vape while charging), and get a long USB cable to charge while you're driving - less wear and tear on the battery.

My personal choice would be an MVP2 with a couple of carto tanks - they last a long time, you can load a tank or two up in the morning and not need to refill for the rest of the day, they work on anything with a 510 thread, and if primed right you can get a week or two on each carto. The MVP can be used while charging, and off the charger, will last all day.

MVP 2 is $39 here Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape

Choose some tanks here, or anywhere else
Tanks - Cartomizers - E-Cig Parts

get a some drip tips, and spend the rest on juice!

Stupid question here, as this is my first post. Can anyone tell me what SID & SVD stand for? I've only used eGo-C with ce4 clearomizers. Looking for a better battery that will complement my kanger protank II arriving in a few days.... Thanks for any help.

They're mods - the SiD is from Smoktech:
Anodized SID

the SVD is here:
Innokin iTaste SVD, Best Tube Style Variable Wattage E-Cigarette - Best Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette Manufacturer| Innokin

both are VV/VW (Variable voltage, variable watts) mods that use rechargeable batteries.

Ya it really can be overwhelming. I found going to Vape conventions, meets and hanging out with other vapers really helped. And I have social anxiety so that made it even more fun :D

But really vaping is a very personal preference thing so trying different set ups helps greatly as everyone has their own pallet. You will see me rocken anything from a Kayfun/Atomo, Provari/AnyVape Davide or an MVP/iClear 16. So take it easy and no worries, luckily I have some kind folks to show me the ropes and get me here to the ECF.

I have a iTaste SVD and a Lavatube 2.5. I use the SVD most of the time and travel with it. The kit comes with 2 iclear 30 tanks and 4 replacement heads. So for a kit it's not that bad. Throw in a couple batteries (I use 18650's) I don't like to change batteries all the time. However you can use smaller batteries and make the unit much smaller.

I dunno about the SID but the SVD stands for "Superior Vaping Device"...
