I have a set of the Health Cigarettes that come in the white box with the picture of the ocean on it. I didn't use them much because I found them difficult to use, especially compared to my EVO's that work very well. But they were cheap and I figured I'd give them a try just as a backup.
Out of the box, they drew ok, but you really had to pull on them to get them to switch on. They also had a healthy whistle to them. I had an atomizer die on one of them, and decided to tinker a bit. Took the atomizer apart and found one of the wires was shorting out. That was easy enough to fix, but when I had it that far apart, I got the motivation to really tinker much more with the whole thing.
Got rid of the whistle by opening the intake hole on the battery a tiny bit with a pin vise and some micro drill bits I have for modelling. I also chamfered the outside of the hole which also helped and made it very quiet. The switch that turns on the battery is nothing more than diaphram with a brass or copper bar attached to it. It was easy to lessen the gap between the diaphram bar and the contact bars it hits to turn on the battery. That made it much more responsive without making it turn on randomly. The wick material within the aomizer coil pretty much fell apart when I pulled it out of the coil. I replaced it with the inner material in a Zippo wick which I found to be almost identical to the original wick.
It was out of pure boredom that I did all this, and was a pure case of "For S's and G's", if you know what I mean. It really didn't take long at all to do, and the end result actually ended up being worth the trouble. It works a thousand times better than it did when I got it. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself, unless you are very comfortable with electronics and whatnot, since modifying the pressure switch could lead to the ecig staying on constantly, consequently killing the atomizer, battery, and possibly overheating the battery and causing a fire. But it was an interesting experience, and between that and these forums I feel comfortable enough that I could keep my atomizers going indefinately. The batteries, on the other hand, are another story, lol...
