Hi All,

These e-cigs sound like the way to go. I've been smoking for over 40 years and can't say I really enjoy it. To save money, I've been rolling my own. However, they still do stink and I feel ostracized quite often. I switch to pipes occasionally, but I always end up back on the cigs.

Anyway, I'd like to try the e-cigs the most economical way possible. What would you recommend as the cheapest way to go. Inconvenience doesn't bother me. After all, rolling them is a pain in the neck, but I've been getting by for less than $1 a pack. Also, with recommendations, can you provide an approximate cost per cig eqiuivalent.

Thanks in advance.

lecig.com has a kr808d-1 single battery with 5 cartomizers for $29.95. Someone may have a better deal. This is a good ecig. I think this is probably better then getting a cheaper disposable since it gives you the basics of a good long lasting ecig. They are honest and also have realtime chat on their site to answer any questions.

The KR808 is one of the favorites around here, I like the Joye 510 I'm using, but it's the only one I've tried. I got it at cignot.com (35 bucks for a starter kit) You'll need some extra juice too, I'd recommend 18 to 24 MG to start with. I started with 18 but it just didn't have enough nic, though it got me off the cigs.

Check out the FAQ's and sticky's in the forums. There's alot of info to absorb......

Good Luck and Go Vikes!!!

It's hard to quantify in cost-per-cigarette terms. I think you'll have a challenge trying to match your $1 a pack costs. Equipment (batteries, atomizers, cartidges, chargers) are going to be both an up-front consideration, and the batteries and atomizers are consumables, so they need periodic replacement. You'll have to determine what model of e-cig you're interested in, and find a supplier whose price and service you can live with - lots of info to be found here about that.

The other ongoing cost is the e-juice. On average, it seems that most folks go through 2-3 ml per day. A reasonable price for pre-mixed juice is about .50 per ml. However, if you mix your own by cutting high-strength unflavored juice, you can save a considerable amount over that, probably more like .10 to .20 per ml. There's a DIY section in the forum with lots of info about mixing juice. That is probably where you can realize your greatest savings.

madvapes has a "disposeable" 510 model for $10 if you're just looking to try them to see if you like it.

*note: I put disposeable in quotes because as far as that's concerned disposeable in this case means that the battery can be recharged just not as many times as a regular 510..sure it's a joye knock off with an auto battery...but it at least lets you try an ecig for pretty cheap
