Hello Everyone!!

Iv been monitoring this site for a while because of its wealth of information. So it was about time I sat down and introduce myself.

I quit dipping with ecigs (Not a common sentence I know…). I have dipped since I was 16 and am now currently 19. I made the switch to ecigs earlier last year with the Halo G6. The beginning of this year I purchased my first Ego and I like it well enough.
The issue is for me at least coming from dipping 2 cans a day I had to start off with a very high nicotine content. When I first stared vaping I was at 34mg and now I vape comfortably at 24mg. I have definitely been feeling the effects of over vaping plus I haven't figured out which my body likes more, a VG/PG mix or 100% VG. Random head aches, nose bleeds before I doubled my water intake, tightness in chest and throat, the usual vaping 'side effects'. Not to worried about it because I do drop my nicotine content monthly while still keeping a bottle of the previous juice just incase I need it :). My goal is 18mg to make it through college then quit all together if I can in my mid 20's. Or at least make it into a weekend treat. :2cool:

So here is where I need yalls help! (can you tell I'm from Texas yet?)
This august I am transferring to a new college and it will be a stressful move plus the added class load I will be bringing along my vaping gear. The only problem is I need new gear! My g6 is shot since I mainly let friends use it for a while so they can try vaping and switch from cigs. My ego I'm convinced is a cheaper knock off since it literally falls apart and I have to reassemble it.

What I am looking for is a nice ego style battery and a cigalike with a PCC. For my bigger vape I was really looking into the new kanger EMOW, its beautiful and looks like a nice upgrade from an ego for a newbie. As for my cigalike I really wanted something smaller with a nice looking PCC that I won't be ashamed to carry around campus with me and enjoy a few puffs between my classes. I really liked the Ego Eroll and have read tons of good things about it on the site. Although I don't really keep up with the latest and greatest so there maybe a newer better cigalike that Iv never heard of.
Another thing I have to consider is ease of use. As in where I am going to school (TTU) there are several vapor shops around but id like to make sure anything I get the carts and tanks will be easy to find in store so I won't have to wait for shipping.:D

So please throw your :2c: at me! Both in vaping suggestions and surviving a small college dorm (I was going to a college by my house before). Plus TTU decided to throw us vapers in with the smoker so we have to stay 20ft away from all entrances. :glare:

Thank you all! Im looking forward to being part of this wonderful community!

I am also new here but I was in the same boat except with over a pack a day smoker for almost a decade (I'm only 25). Yesterday, I switched to a Provari and a Kayfun clone from an eGo and I absolutely love it. It did cost some $$ but I feel like it was worth it. At least twice the flavor and vapor production as my old eGo. This is just my 2 cents but a lot of people have nothing but good things to say about the Provari. You do have to build the coils and wick the Kayfun (or KF clone) but its not that hard and it's pretty fun.

As far as college dorms go, hope you get a good roommate lol. I hated mine and my first year was miserable at Auburn, we were just polar opposites and had literally nothing in common and he had ADHD and refused to take his meds. Also, that sucks about TTU classifying vapers as smokers. I can vape inside any building at UAH (although I usually don't unless I'm pressed for time).

Good luck at TTU and War Eagle ;)

I also was a dipper before I started vaping. Smoked maybe 2 cigs a day and when I drank, but mainly a dipper. Copenhagen long cut son! Haha, I'm not gonna lie I do kind of miss it. I got cravings for snuff about 3 months after the switch. No ciggy cravings though, yuck. As far as a new ego battery, I'd look in to the vision spinner II, they're a bit large at 1600 mah. If you don't mind something that big I don't think you could go wrong with it. If you shop around I'm pretty sure you can find one for around $25 shipped. I just don't know if it will be authentic for that price. Not too sure on the cigalike & pcc though.

God bless ya layzer, you have your plate full! I have heard good things from those who have used the eroll and I hope they'll find your thread. I personally like the MVP2 because it has everything you could want out of a ecig, strike that, it's a mod straight-up. It cost around $40 bucks at 101 Vape, has vv/vw, 2600 mAh, puff counter, ohm display, and battery display. It can charge your cell phone and ipod too :). Great device. It is a box mod and has a 510/eGo connection so it can use most any topper out there and usually comes with one at purchase. An iClear 30 or something like that. Something from Innokin if you're interested. I wish you the best! Good luck and keep in touch!!

nth0001. I did look into that provari, I just don't know if I'm willing to shell out that kind of cash even though I know it would be awesome. A bigger mod like that is something I would be interested in but for the sake of convenience I think ill stay clear of them for a while. And jeez sounds like the worst roommate ever, All I know about my roommate is he's coming in as a freshman and he's still got that high school 'Im the coolest' vibe. I can say that because iv been in dual credit classes since 16 (70 hours already completed towards my degree :D) So generally I classify myself as a little more matured, it'll be an interesting semester for sure.

BoxofWine. We had a terrible batch of cope come in through all the gas stations and I switched to grizzly wintergreen, never looked back :( but nothing beats a good can of cope. As for that spinner I have never heard of it but it looks beautiful! I will definitely do some more research on that.

Detramental. Woah I have seen those around, I never knew you could get them that cheap! definitely going on my list to check out!

I was going to suggest the MVP too man! lol I wasn't sure if you were ready for that jump yet though. I just got mine last saturday and in hindsight I wish I would've gotten one right of the bat and bypassed the ego. MVP 2.0 is probably one of the smaller mod's and ya, I paid $35.50 SHIPPED for mine. Came with an iClear 30 top dual coil tank, charging cable and "beauty ring" that screws on the base. It's a deal.

I think all of the vv mods I own will be more than you're looking for. Provari, Lavatube v2, and a VAMO 2. They're all bigger devices, but especially with the Provari, like nth0001 said, after you hold it and use it, there's no going back.

They are TOUGH... Which it seems is a bit of a concern for you considering your eGo keeps falling apart. Rather than a built in battery you charge the whole device with, it uses (could be wrong on this) 18490s -I believe- or get the extender cap to use 18650s like I have in all of my devices. You won't believe the life you get out of them.

I can't really help with a cigalike. I started with a crappy convenience store ecig, used the V2s for a bit, but quickly bought the Inferno kit from Volcano ecigs. They're not bad. Decent battery life and they used a carto tank system at the time but no adjusting the voltage.

A LOT of users on here use the MVP series mentioned and I've had it recommended to me, I just, personally, don't like box mods.., though enough people swear by them to spark curiosity. I think they're definitely something to look into further if you don't mind box mods.

The one thing I will say and hope you don't mind my saying, but I would NEVER buy my tanks in a local shop. Baditude, who has helped me more than I can thank him for on here, recommended the site IBTanked for your tank needs. Get them plain or with designs, and the prices are VERY reasonable. The other tank site to look into is Phiniac glass. They're expensive but have amazing sandblasted glass Pyrex tanks with countless designs to choose from, and just like the tanks from IBTanked, they're tougher than coffin nails. My two cents on the tank situation.

As far as cartos go, if you can find a store that carries Smoktech cartos, great. If not, get your cartos online as well. The two brands I use are Ikenvape (also another recommendation from Baditude) and Smoktech.

I'm from Texas too, but in the middle of nowhere so I have no idea what kind of carto brands vape shops might carry but I think you'll be much more satisfied with one of those brands than some cheap no name carto they might be carrying in the local vape shops.

With my location I buy everything online, and thanks to everyone here on ECF I have yet to be disappointed with hardware. Well except my VAMO 2 vv/vw mod... My first one completely came apart and the replacement I keep as a backup because right out of the box it's display cover fell off in my hand...lol.

If you haven't seen any of his videos yet, check out PBusardo on YouTube. Tons of amazing reviews, as objective as possible, on countless items.

Awesome information iv book marked those tank sites! I always look at Volcanos line, iv heard mixed things about them. How do you like the lava tube? Personally I do really like their entry level PCC cigalike but at the same time I know they aren't very good as a friend of mine had one and my G6 blew it away. But I'm interested to see how their 'top of the line' mod reflects their claim to quality.

I would recommend a MVP and an AeroTank for you. With an AeroTank you have the luxury of a dual or single coil set up in the tank. The battery life and durability of an MVP is nice for someone on the go like you. I would go for the glass tank because you could put any liquid into it and not worry about the tank crackers. The MVP can be a bit fussy with the tanks coil connection and the AeroTank base connection is a good one for Innokin products.

I would recommend an eRoll for a vaper who has already quit or a light smoker trying to quit. They are a bit pricey for starting out. Do not get me wrong they are useful to have as a back up and small form factor and hands free vaping. They are a bit fussy to keep up with. I dont think I would have kicked the stinkys using them by themselves.

I found both my eRolls on sale for $50 each set (Black Friday). I bought 2 full sets to start. You are going to have to buy an extra sleeve to have 2 fully operational cigalikes to keep in rotation in one set. The set comes with 2 batteries and one sleeve and three tanks IIRC.

I found a great sale online. I then added 6 more cigalikes to that set. These are just the cost associated with running an eRoll. The price for coils at my local B&M is $20 for 5 coils. $1 for a new tank $5 for a box of 5 tanks. $10 roughly for a small battery. The PCC replacement can sometimes run $25 and up.

I hope I wasnt rambling I hope I helped. Good Luck to you :tumble:

Added: I own a Provari I love them and looking back I might have bypassed everything and went with a Provari only but there is a fun factor involved on my journey.

I could see myself with a simple mod. Nothing to fancy, when it gets into building your own wicks and wrapping coils it all kinda goes over my head. Im liking what I'm seeing with the MVP2 may be a good upgrade but I'm also stuck on the new kanger EMOW and now that Vision Spinner 2 really catch my eye more than the MVP does.

Dailywalker. I really REALLY want an eroll now! It looks perfect for a casual night out when I don't wanna lug around a bigger battery. I feel like as long as I had a better setup for every day use the price would be minimal for the eroll upkeep, and it from what I'm reading it sounds like the attys last for weeks before needing replacement and the tanks are dirt cheap! I found it on sale for 40$ so I may pick it up with a pack of attys and a few dozen tanks.

Still undecided on the ego upgrade though.

Volcano ecigs (honestly IMHO) I'd hit or miss. The inferno really wasn't a bad product I simply wanted more so I sprung for a Provari.

In my opinion, the first generation Lavatube was complete garbage. I bought one and gave it away to a friend who wanted to try vaping. My Lavatube v2, different story. Feels solid in the hand, fits my gigantic hands really well, easy to operate and has a nice quality built feel and weight to it.

At the same time, I do not approve of the company itself simply because they want you to purchase all of your supplies from them, so all of their instructional videos about the device are worthless. It's a vv/vw mod, and nothing on their site goes into detail about utilizing it. They teach you basic operations for THEIR products for it (cartos, tanks, batteries, everything) and just assume you won't venture to another site to try something else.

A couple I know buys everything from them. She uses the inferno system. He started with one but it wasn't satisfying his urges so they bought the same Lavatube I have, but they purchased everything for it from volcano. They were under the impression that the higher your settings, the more vapor... That's how much the instructional videos from volcano teach you about vv and vw vs ohms. So basically this guy went back to cigarettes because, despite how I begged him to pay attention, he would (incorrectly) fill his carto tank set ups, then immediately screw up the carto as soon as he fired it because he'd have the volts cranked all the way up... Then he'd complain it didn't work good enough and walk outside for a smoke, while I'm sitting there with the same device and clouds of vapor around my head lol.

So more or less... It IS a good device. Decently constructed, offers vv and vw, and isn't badly priced. I think they're like $75?? I paid $60 for my VAMO 2 and WISH it felt half this good in my hand.

Once you move on to the bigger and better mods, do NOT hesitate to ask around for help about vv, vw, and ohms. I learned what I know, which I could still learn plenty more, from people helping me here on ECF, watching PBusardo's videos on YouTube, and also I give some credit to a video I watched while waiting on my Provari... It was a vid on the Provape site that taught you how to build and set up a Z-Atty Pro RBA.

I don't do rba's .... I bought a clone of one a long time ago, spent 4 hours putting it together and adjusting what I'd done trying to get it to vape right, and eventually got frustrated, threw it across the room, hooked one of my carto tanks to my Provari and walked away...lol

I'd say the MVP is definitely pocket friendly, its like 2" wide by 1" deep and prolly 4" tall. As for the iClear 30, I'm honestly not a fan of it. I just don't like top coil designs. However, if you like top coil tanks, I would imagine it's a good one. But you could use whatever tank you currently have on your ego with the MVP, since it's got ego and 510 threading. I was worried about the pocket factor when I first ordered it, and for the first few days it was definitely an adjustment from an ego. But now it's already second nature to me. It doesn't feel big at all, just damn solid.

OK so an ego upgrade I like was my Innokin V3. Get it here fast shipping and in USA 101vapedotcom ( spelled out website) like 27$ with shipping.
Its like an ego but better it can be used as a Passthru. It has a usb cable to charge not like egos that strip the 501 connection. You get an aerotank and it is good for a half day. Get 2 you should be set up.

The eRoll for 40$ is a good buy. I could only find silver extra parts on sale but I like silver anyway. Be sure to get an extra sleeve so you will have two to use. The charger will work for ten charges. A tank of fluid lasts for 2 charges of the battery. I have 6 so I dont carry the charger on me. You can fill up extra tanks and use the cap that comes with them. I would put filled tanks in a small plastic bag in your pocket or backpack.

So TTU is that Texas Tech?

OH the eRoll is so cute I really wanted one and glad I bought it. I wanted to find a cig case to put them in but they are not big enough.
