Hey guys (and girls), I'm quickly getting into vaping, I've smoked for years now and really want to cut down due to the constant coughing and ill health smoking cigarettes can bring. I've often vaped with friends (sampling their gear ) but never really thought of getting my own pen until now. I decided not to throw myself into the deep end right away and settled for a nice £10 starter rig from my local headshop about a week ago, it's a HS VapourMX and is really good value for money from what I can tell (plus a free bottle of any iBreath juice!). I hope to see a few of you guys around on the forum as I'm sure I'll be active a lot now. As a side note is there any recommendations for any cheap upgrades I could do to increase flavour on the cheap, preferably under £10-20 from a local headshop.

Looking forward to my endeavour into vaping!

Welcome and good luck. I quit smoking for vaping a year next month and I love it. I have to make a recommendation based on a recent purchase though I'm not sure what the cost and availability is in your neck...the GS Air M by eLeaf is a $10 tank that is without a doubt every bit as good as my Subtank Mini. Amazing flavor, terrific airflow and it holds 4ml. Smaller tank too which is nice. I got mine at sweet-vapes.com and it made me put away my Aspire Nautilus and Kanger Genitanks. Highly recommended. Take care!

Sounds great! I'd prefer not to order online but I'll consider it, and $10? That's very affordable, that would be around £6 over here I guess (roughly). Thanks for the recommendation Boomer, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for it in any local headshops and ask about to see if they can get it in stock for me. Awesome, cheers!

Oh one other thing, in the near future I would like to upgrade my current battery as I presume the standard 650mah batt isn't very good. I'm very surprised with how well it copes so far in terms of battery life, I charged it over night and used it from around 11:40am and the battery has lasted until about now (still isn't dead but the vape is getting weaker, a noticeably duller flavour too) and it's currently 21:06 so a good 9 hours, albeit it on and off vaping. Quite good I must admit but I would prefer to upgrade to a 1100mah batt or something along those lines. Any recommendations? Thanks!

@xVape Depending on the tank you get with the coil, you need to make sure the battery will fire it. Those batteries I am sure will fire down to 1.5 ohms but will drain quickly. I recommend 2 bigger batteries about twice the size of that one, something like the vision spinner II battery 1600mah which should run all day on a coil that is 1.8 ohms. One for on the go while the other is charging. Nothing worse than running out of battery power and having to revert back to the stinkies. I would also recommend getting a kangertech aero tank with airflow control or something similar with airflow control. You will not regret it. Airflow also allows for better flavoring as certain flavors need air or lack there of to taste. Hope this helps. By the way, hello and welcome to the forums.

Welcome @xVape to ECF :)

Thank you Dextrose, looking forward to seeing you around!

+1 on the GS Air M tank. Although you may want to save up for a more powerful mod (like an iStick 30 watt) to get the most out of it. Below are some reviews.

I'll have a look into it, thanks for the reviews, it means a lot to get such a friendly input from people like you, cheers!

That certainly did help and was just what I was looking for, thank you for going into such depth! One positive is that I'm about to purchase the fuel+ 9000mah portable charger, I bloody well need it for my phone, battery dies within a few hours but it has a few charging ports for USB so I can charge my batteries on the go too, all in my pocket! Excellent for me. I've heard great things about kangertech and seen a couple of reviews on YouTube for some of their products and they do seem to get great bang for buck reviews, I'll give it a shot. I'd rather get some quality products instead of dishing out money for cheap replacements, for example when I had to pick up a new atomizer today at a market stall because I was getting a less flavoursome and almost dirty taste from my current one, I suspect it was a problem with the wicks because when I got it they looked almost plastic like and extremely stubby, the wicks on the new atomizer are much more "Plush" so to speak and full, albeit not the best I could have bought but it was an on the spot replacement which I needed. I guess this weekend it is time to hit up one of the local stores and find out what they stock. Until then is there any recommendation with what I have got, any tips on cleaning my atomizer? I think I'll give it a soak in warm/hot water tomorrow as that's what I've read elsewhere just to keep it maintained unless doing that is wrong. Thanks once again guys, the advice and warm welcomings are much appreciated ;).

Looks great, especially with the carbon fibre design! Another thing I'm thinking of doing is since I have 2 atomizers is to start dripping one of them, probably the one where the wicks are almost dead. I tried dripping with it earlier and it tasted great. I think I'll keep dripping to just that end of the road atomizer that I got in the HS VapourMX in the first place. I read there's a chance of battery damage from dripping but it seems unlikely, can anyone confirm this? Thanks for all the amazing responses guys!
