New here - question about carto/tank with Kamry K101

Hi,

I'm pretty new at this, like less than a month . The first device I got was a 618 e-pipe (formerly a pipe smoker), then I recently got a Kamry K101 kit.

I thought that the tank+carto from the 618 would work with the K101, but it does not. It screws into the K101 ok, but doesn't fire.

I think that the center contact on the K101 or on the tank+carto is too short, so I was wondering if there is a way to adjust the height of the contact pin on the K101?

you best bet would be to get a 510-510 adapter that sits between the two. as the k100 has a raised outside wall around the threading that will block airflow on most carto tanks. the adapter should also fix that as well.

The K100 and K101 are mechanical mods. I know that with many mech's you can not use carto tanks, but must use an RBA/RDA tank.

To me it looks like the carto in that tank is flanged and the threads look short to me. I'm guessing your center pin isn't making contact with the bottom of the cartomizer. If you have one try a different cartomizer. Stock cartos from Fasttech are garbage.

Thanks for the responses. Some background, just in case, I'm new to e-cigs, but have been a flashaholic and modding flashlights for awhile, so am familiar with batteries, etc.

FYI, I got a couple of these that work with the K101, but was just hoping I could re-purpose the 618 tanks:

The K101 kit came with a couple of cartos, but no tank and the cartos are not punched. As I mentioned in the previous post, I also have some (no-name, I think) cartos+tanks that seem to work ok with the K101.

You're correct that the ones from the 618 are flanged (large flanges ) and punched, and probably that the contact is too short.

I've found a number of adapters, e.g.:

that say "These adapaters come with the nut shown in the picture and DO NOT have hole in the middle, they are sealed.".

What does that "sealed" mean, and can I use those in my case?

I've gone ahead and ordered one of the sealed, and one of the non-sealed adapters. Will post back when it gets here...
