New here... with a broken Spinner.

Been meaning to register here for a while. Started vaping last September with an eGo Twist and getting into vaping pretty good now. Battery plate failed on that so I got a Vision Spinner about 6 weeks ago and I have a technical problem.

Today, I had my Spinner on my lap while I was reading, and it fell off my lap and onto the floor. (About 1 and half feet). It's ceased working completely - the battery doesn't light up when I press it, I've tried unlocking it and it won't charge/light up when plugged into the charger either.

My best guess is that it jerked something loose, but I'm a bit nervous about attempting to take it apart. Does anyone have any suggestions? It's never been dropped or anything prior to this and I'll be gutted if I have to shell out for another (I'm an apprentice - we're paid pittance ).

I don't know a lot about the Spinner or about eGo-style batteries, but i know that it's good to be careful about battery safety. I don't believe spinners are meant to be taken apart.

You've probably killed it. I've done this....either something is now loose or the button gets out of shape.

I sent mine away to a modder. He fixed it. Unless you have tools or the experience, best to leave that sort of thing alone.

(You need £20 to get a new one....)

Hi Stitch. I've been lucky with my spinners, numerous drops and they still work.

I'd suggest you've probably broken one of the wires off the circuit board and that's why it's not working. You can fix it with a soldering iron, some rudimentary electronic knowledge and a bit of luck. There are several youtube videos showing this process.

To check if it is this, you can just pop the top off and take a look.

The top section of the battery (where the 510/ego connector is press fit into the battery casing) can be removed by wrapping it in a thin soft cloth and using vise-grips or pliers. Just be gentle and you can wiggle it off. Be careful because there are wires that run from the 510 connector to the circuit board so once it starts to come off, reduce the amount of pressure you are using.

Once you have it open, it should be obvious if the issue is a broken wire or something else.
