Just signed up and figured I'd say hi. Not a smoker but I have friends and family that do and I want to convince them to take up vaping. I'm thinking of getting my step-dad a starter kit for Christmas. It's almost more for me than it is for him because I hate the smell of smoke and as it stands, whenever I walk into the house there's that heavy odor waiting at the door, so I'm looking at getting a solid, low maintenance quality product. I've been doing some research and this seems to be the place to go.

Hi. The eGo is highly recommended on this forum and that is what I started out with. I'm only a few weeks into vaping myself. The good thing about the eGo is it will last you all day. Atleast through a work day. Mine quits on me a couple hours before bed time. Most kits come with a back up so its never a big deal. The trick to vaping is finding the right combination of PG/VG that suits you and the flavor. Atleast thats the trick for me. Good luck getting your family members to quit.

Welcome to ECF and both the other posts were correct in the 510 and the Ego (which is a 510 on steroids) being good models. I started with a 510 but for all the constant fiddling with the 510 I would now go to the KR808D1 if I had it to do over, Whichever model you decide on make sure it's a manual and not an automatic.
