New here

Hey everyone,

I am new here and just thought I would give a quick post about my experiences as a vaper.

I got started about 4-5 years ago and have been vaping on and off since, I started with a simple 510 and after a while it just wasn't cutting it so I bought an ego.

Quit smoking for a while on this but ended up smoking again (bad idea), then I ended up buying a Torpedo from Totally Wicked shop in my town which kept me vaping for a while again.

If you hadn't already gathered I seem to have a problem sticking to giving up the real cigarettes.

Anyway I just bought an MVP 2 from Totally Wicked and I am trying to get back on the horse so to speak and wondered if anyone had any tips?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks :)

A big thing with vaping is it can all be quite confusing with all different MODs and all the lingo plus whether to buy liquids or make them and thats a whole new ball game.

But feeling serious this time.

Yeah the mvp is great start man! If you're looking for a new clearomizer I would look into the aspire Nautilis mini. New tank that is awesome. I've noticed the more vapor you get the easier it is to satisfy yourself.

I'm new here too. Suffering information overload! I am naturally obsessive, and have completely gone crazy with this stuff...but to your point, Jack...

My husband started vaping because so many of our friends had quit smoking with it. He and are were both heavy smokers, and not as young as we used to be, so I thought why not give it a try. He had great success, he was trying to quit. I wasn't trying to quit, and I didn't enjoy vaping. It burned my throat worse than cigs, it seemed like so much stuff to mess with just to keep them going, and none of the ejuice tasted that great to me. Plus, holding a battery with a cup of coffee just isn't the same as smoking with a cup of coffee!

But here's the thing that got me: he never asks me to change my behavior just because he has changed his. He kept telling me he didn't care if I quit or not, but he was glad he had. But my smoking around him was like smoking around our 13-year old daughter - not at all the right thing to do! I felt guilty smoking in the car with him. So I told him I would like to try it again. He took me vape shopping (which is now what we do for "date night"!) and I sampled eLiquids till I found something I really liked. It was watermelon mint, and it was great! That did it - finding the right taste. I like sweet juice, and he does not, so everything I tried that he selected I didn't like. Once I found the right flavor, it was easy.

Along the way (six weeks or so) I have had the urge to smoke a "real" cigarette, and upon lighting one up, have been completed disgusted with the taste, smell, ash, etc that goes along with it. I take two drags and put it out. So, even though he and I both "reserve the right" to smoke tobacco if we want to, I never want to anymore. It's nothing short of miraculous in my case, as well as his.

I also figured out that I don't vape like I used to smoke in this way. I would go a few hours, sometimes, until I really craved the nicotine. With vaping, we use very low (6mg) nicotine levels, but more or less vape constantly. I don't know how to explain it, but vaping is not like "having a cigarette". It's a difference sort of ceremony, ritual and routine. When I first tried it, I was attempting to merely substitute the apparatus for the physical cigarette, and of course, it was unsatisfying. Vaping is a different thing altogether, and the ritual, ceremony, routine happens doing the maintenance, the organization of supplies, the design, if you will, of my vaping "rigs".

Anyway, that's my smoking-to-vaping experience. I'm having so much fun mixing juices, starting to DIY juices, reading about equipment and visiting local vape shots. I nearly blew up a mechanical mod last night! Lots to learn! That's what makes it fun for me.

Hope that is helpful and not too long-winded. Good luck!

I have heard good things about them, I got an iClear 30 with my MVP and its the best tank I have had since starting to vape.

Loads of vapour, better throat hit and better flavour.

Just need a good place for liquid in the UK.

Got a couple of shops in my town that I can try so that is my mission over the next week while I'm off work.

Lots of great tips in this thread! Couple of things I saw that I used to get me started. First and foremost you have to get the idea out of you head that you're quiting smoking. (Bear with me here! ) I couldnt get over the fact that I was quiting smoking by using an ecig. That caused more nic fits and withdrawals than I could have imagine. I think it was the thought of never having a cigarette again.

I changed that thought into "I'm switching to a much tastier and neater form of smoking (I know I know its not "smoking"... thats just what I told myself) After that thought stuck, no more problems!!

Next thing is to find a juice you love! Hard to do and its trial and error but what I did was I looked on here, found a reputable company and got 3 different types of juice. A tobacco to get over the hard humps, a fruit, and a bakery. I put one of those in thier own EVOD tank so I could switch out when I wanted to and ill tell you what, it was a sintch to quit!

I started out with an EVOD 1000 mah starter kit, and Goodejuice Patriot tobacco, Apple Pie, and Kryptonite. That was back in September and ive never looked back!

Sorry for the long winded post! Congrats on the switch. You wont regret it*
