I find this warning correct:

Warning:
When the eGo APV works at AVG status, the product may produce much stronger power on the same atomizer than working at RMS status. It will likely damage your atomizers greatly.

So we strongly do suggest you to use only RMS status, because RMS status can perform very well.

4w on AVG status works like 8w on RMS status and often gives a burning taste. And I only use 1 battery.

I found that flat top batteries work better than batteries that have button (nipple?) on top. Just 10 hours experienced..

Thank you for your asking.

I am sorry that 2pc trustfire protected 18350 batteries do not fit the APV.

however if you remove the middle short tube and use only 1pc trustfire protected 18350 battery, it works. :)

i can confirm that 1 pc trustfire 18350 battery doesnt work on this. my apv will shutdown once i set it anything higher than 3.4v on 2.4ohm vivi nova (apv detects this as 2.6ohm). i have to remove the battery and turn it back on again if this happen. pretty annoying actually

i am not sure if this is faulty device or the battery is the issue, i think i will find out tomorrow when my AW batteries arrive

This is exactly what I am afraid of, but haven't got enough time yet to make a conclusion.

I like to use protected 18350 1200mha trusfire battery, so this is a very annoying problem, makes me a little dissapointed.

The APV when using 18650 (flat top) battery works stably, but is too damn long. My gf told me that it looks like a dangerous electric weapon, or some devil drug providers, even big enough to be looked like a... xxx toy. She knocked it on my head "bang bang you die". What disturbed!

So I still bring a twist and/or itaste vv with me to the office, left the APV monster at home till I can find a good, reliable with long life 18350 battery.

Anyway, I'm impressed in the way it performs. Very good kick, throat hit, hug vapor and flavor, especially for a 0mg nicotine vapor like me.

Try to have it carved like some Caravela's mod, too... And hope HC will fix this battery issue.

P/s: And it's too dam heavy, too. It makes vaping become closer to working out.

i am getting 2 AW 18350 battery, rule of thumb i think is 100mah for every hour, so the AW is 700mah, will last me 7 hours i think. guess it depends on your vape frequency too if you vape it every minute it wouldnt last long at all :)

hopefully it will run fine on single 18350, but i do have AW 18650 coming with it as well as a backup if it doesnt

Thank you for your post here.
I am sorry that we posted a wrong instruction here before we made enough tests. We did try a trustfire battery and find it work well. but not all trustfire batteries can work well.
We will post a notice on our site about the problem.

appreciate your apologies and i hope it is indeed the problem with the batteries and not the units

You'll be better off with AW IMR than those trustfires. Yep, rule of thumb is 100 mah = approx 1 hour. But it may be shorter if you are draining a lot of current. I'll be using AW IMR 18650s and 18350s with mine when I get it.

Well if it wasn't for the information from health cabin that those trustfire would work for the apv I wouldnt have bought them and buy aw batteries instead. Which is what I have to do now and wait 2 extra days to be able to use it as its getting delivered tomorrow

I wouldn't use trustfires if they fitted the pv or not. Hope you enjoy the mod once your AWs come in.

There was a unfamiliar fact that the first time I used single trustfire 18350 on APV, it worked well until the battery was drained. This happened to the other 18350 trustfire I have. But after I used 18650 unprotected battery and then changed back to trustfire 18350, it no longer worked, sometimes automatically turns off after a few button pushing, most of the time turns off right after the first pushing, happens to both 18350 trustfire batteries even when they are fully charged. Now it only works with 18650 unprotected battery. This is a very confusing problem of the Ego APV. I hope there's some one else has experienced this and may has an explaination to this.

Hey silverx I have just found that I can use a stack of two trustfire batteries if I loosen the tube, and it works!!! The APV will be a little longer and doesn't look as nice as 1 18650 battery in it, but it damn works. No more auto-turn off, no more annoying stuff.

Also, I found that the APV with 1 18650 battery is loose, and if you shake it a bit, it will easily turn off. I fix this problem with two tiny nails fitting with the battery in the tube to tighten it. You can find those nail in a new shirt.

Two days experiencing and, well, this APV is a strong PV, but is not as reliable as I expected...

Lol it stops working on "two 18350 trustfire batteries mode" after 2 hours without any reason. I may name this APV "My Girlfriend" due to her sour and scornful character...

On a mod like this you need IMR Li-Mn batteries. They actually have safer chemistry than protected Li-ion batteries.
Protected batteries will also usually be longer than IMRs because the protected have a circuit board added. You put extra stress on the connection in the mod by forcing longer batteries into it.
Protected Li-ions are also known to have a poor high-current discharge performance.
