Jasl90 in the pictures of your nobel with the silica wick you say you use 1/32. Is that 1mm thick? Or 1.5mm
Should have my new nobel arrive in e next few days!

Honestly, I haven't measured it. I'd say its at least 1.5. Probably closer to 2mm. It's intended purpose is to be a high temp insulating sleeve, so the 1/32" size is its internal dimension.

I didn't get through the whole thread, but plan on giving it a read this coming week. I picked up a noble 1 about 5 days ago or so. I was loving it until yesterday when it started to not vape very well so i went to switch the battery and found juice leaked all inside the battery tube. not happy. I cleaned it off and threw another battery in and it did the same exact thing..... not what i was expecting from a $200 US made product.

Seems like there's some Nobel veterans in here people that own more than one... can anyone give me some help on this issue? Did i get a bad product and need a replacement, or does this happen to all of them? Is there an easy fix?

thanks for the help guys, i'm kinda frustrated right now to say the least. I have the new model with anodized top and no black color on the logo on bottom button.

post #19 or page 19 doesn't have anything about it... unless i'm looking wrong.

I think this is a reference to a post I made in another thread... It was #19... Just not in this thread.
Here is a copy.
I've got the same mod. The top deck is anodized. You DO NOT want to mod it in any way, shape, form or fashion... Unless you have the resources to have it re-anodized.

I too had the leaking issues when I first jot my hands on it... The o-rings around the tank leaked and was getting juice down the center post, onto the battery. I was able to get it all fixed up and it stays dry as a bone now. Here's what I did...

1) Took it completely apart and gave it a good cleaning.
2) Replaced the stock tank o-rings with slightly large ones (same thickness, just larger diameter, so they didn't have to stretch as much.
3) Cut off the original heat shrink off the center post and replaced it thicker heat shrink and sized it to fill the entire length of the tank post. Also made sure that the bottom of the heat shrink made a seal with the bottom o-ring.
4) When reassembling, I did not use any juice to lubricate the o-rings. Make it tough to get the glass on but made for a good seal. Also, when reassembling the post, you want to make sure the nuts that secure the post are tight but not so tight that it deforms the top o-ring.
5) When putting the top cap on, wipe out the inside of the cap and wipe down the o-ring that holds it on. The dryer it is, the better seal it will make.

Lastly, if you're getting juice building up on the deck, to the point where it's coming out the hole... Spin the mod so the air hole is pointed up or to the side and vape it that way until you get dry hits.

HTH...

Thanks for the info. I wasn't getting any leaking out of the tank; it was all just leaking down the center post from whatever condensation juice was left on the deck after vaping for a wile. I cleaned it all out and re assembled with insuring everything is properly tightened. Hopefully it will work properly now.

The main issue I believe is the hard plastic washer design on top around the positive post. This is the same issue with why everyone’s RSST’s where leaking. I believe a small plastic o-ring would work worlds better since the pressure of the o-ring flexing when the screw it tightened would make a much better seal than a hard plastic washer would. My rsst’s used to leak the same way all time, after replacing the top hard plastic insulator with the perfect size o-ring they have never leaked since.

If it still ends up leaking I’m going to throw out the top washer and use an o-ring or two which I believe will give a much tighter seal around the post and deck.

I like the mod, but for the cost it shouldn’t leak like a cheap china device do.

Yea... I agree. It has some cool features but I think they really dropped the ball on a few things. I don't think you should have to mod a $200 device to make it work right.

i hear that. when i got the think i loved it, and i still do. It's super light and vapes like a champ... it was easy as cake to set up as well. But the whole leaking thing ...... me off, hence the last post i made. it's my first hybrid, so I was soooo sooo happy to get it. got it for the $150 sale they had and i expected to have no issues since i was getting an american made expencive high end mod... so it made be sad and mad at the same time.

i just hope it fixes the issue with what i just did. I only have 4 18350 batteries and finding out about the leak ruined two of them. I got it filled up and vaping again... if it's leaks this time, then there goes my 3'rd battery. Only one left after that. batteries have holes on the top of them, and wile i can wipe them off and sit them upslide down to get any extra juice out of them, i think it would be safe to say i'd be an idiot to use them after juice leaked inside of them.

so not only am i mad the expencive mod i got is leaking, it's also costing me money in ruined batteries.

Don't sweat the batteries. Just wash them off. They haven't been harmed in the least bit.

really? so even though there's two holes in the nipple of the battery and juice got inside there's okay to use? I've never taken a battery apart so i'm not sure where the two holes end up going, i just figured once something got inside there where better off trashed.

so when you say wash them off, you literally mean run water over them and dry with a towel and use again?

yours has a hard plastic washer? mine came with black rubber o-rings and it's starting to leak. I know that they have to be tightened just right because too lose and it'll leak and too tight and the o-ring deforms and leaks.

I would have thought that a harder material and tightening it would have made a better seal.

another reason I think it starts to leak after time is that with constant pressure applied from the bottom, the centre post must be moving (even a little) which would break the seal, not to mention the heat from the coils constantly heating and cooling. I wonder if there is something a bit harder than rubber but softer than plastic that might be able to be tightened better and would deal better with the minute pressure applied over time.

any suggestions?

Mine has a hard plastic washer on the top and a rubber o-ring on the bottom. I cleaned it out and tightened everything down again and it still seems to leak.

I was thinking the correct size o-ring, rubber washer, or small gasket onto would fix the issue. Plus adding more black tape innovation to the middle or the post where it sits under the tank might help as well. I ordered a few different sizes of o-rings, water proof electrical tape, and a sheet of high temperature rubber so I can cut and make my own size gasket/washers. Got it all off eBay.

The hard plastic washer ontop of the deck just isn't doing it. It doesn't even fit snug around the post, so no matter how tight it is against the desk, juice can still run down the post and eventually end up on the battery.
