I saw Phil B's review on the VTR with the iClear30S and started looking for them out of curiosity. Altsmoke and Discountvapes have a pretty good price on them and they appear to be in stock.

They also have the coils in stock and it looks like a carto/clearo hyrbid. It even looks like a flanged carto with a bunch of big holes in it. The coil is held in place similar to a smok UDCT carto tank using a locking ring.

My older iClear30 is not bad and has given me very few problems but there is no way i would pay more for a coil. Carto/Clearo hybrid cartos are much cheaper if i wanted that type of design. I can put those in a glass carto tank and still fill them from the top. IMO these would be more interesting if they also could use a flanged carto or the proprietary coil. Sounds like a win win for those that prefer the flavor of a carto with some juices.

I get great life out of the regular i30 coils and its the only reason i still use them occasionally.

IMO, those exposed wicks tend to throw people off as being a bit unattractive and messy. Hiding them was a smart move. To bad they're still using plastic for the tank... a glass iClear might have been a potential "PT killer".

Oh you had to say plastic..... Was wishing they were glass. $13.00 for clearo and $13.00 for 5 pack of coils. Not sure if I want to ditch my glass Protank Mini 2.

I love the fact that the iclear's are pretty much a fill and vape system, I've had no issues with my 16's. I don't like that I cant rebuild these (or at least I don't how to), but 26 bucks total for a plastic tank, meh  it is an interesting design though, but like with pbusardo's video he took the coil unit apart, which he had to destroy to do so lol.

I'm not a big TCC fan, but the way the iClear is designed, the "flavor potential" is pretty good. I've not used any Kangers in a while, but I recall that with an EVOD (same coil head as a PT), the flavor was a good bit better... at least to my "taster".

Saying that, I'm tinkering with re-coil and cotton wicking one... maybe end up at around 1.5Ω. The wife and daughter love 'em (they aren't in to big Kayfuns and RDAs... slim and trim is where they're at)... so just for fun I'm seeing if I can get even more flavor out of one. :)

The only thing i don't like is the top coil is condensation seems to build on top of the white cone. Then i get a little gurgle. Vapes fine though and no leaks from the original. It been very hassle free and has pretty good flavor. It looks like Madvapes (IIRC) had the coils for the same price as other iClear top coils. I was a bit shocked when i saw $4 each on another website. Locally all the shops charge $3 for Innokin i16/i30 coils. Pretty much no breaks on quantity like i get with the Kangers or cartos.

I guess its all relative. The Innokin coils seem to last me a long time and i haven't gotten a DOA yet. The S version does look a bit better too.

Maybe someone will take this idea and run with it for making these to fit in a carto tank. Then we could buy glass tanks and put these in instead of cartos. I have two carto tanks that I don't use because after the priming juice I load in the carto is gone, they never seem to absorb any more through the pre-punched holes. Using one of these in a tank would be great though!

Interesting... odd, but interesting. What brand cartos?

:) Yeah, I actually bought them and the tank at their B&M store here locally. Was in there for other things and thought, Hey let's try a carto tank! When it didn't work out so well, I decided to waste more money by buying the Big Daddy tank and the recommended carto's for that one too. It doesn't work any better. I'm sure it's just me doing something wrong. That's why I think designing something like this new 30s head for a carto tank would be pretty fool proof. (Since I seem to be the only fool who can't get a carto tank to even work!)

It would be interesting but they already make a CE2 carto hybrid and its not very popular as far as i can see. The Innokin coil though in a carto "tube" looks like it would function better.

My preference would be a carto that will fit the iClear30S simply because i prefer the flavor. It does not look like it would be hard to make especially if Innokin made them as an optional coil/carto. That would be more of a "first" from a big name company, a tank that takes either. Other companies would likely follow with their i30S cartos, just like Boge offers a F16 for their tanks and SMOK's DCTs.

Sounds like a nice money maker to me and i always like to keep my options open.

Hopefully innokin is paying attention to trends and updates the iclear line with a dual bottom coil tank in Pyrex. I like my iclear 30 clearos but I'm trying the aspire bdc vivi nova pyrex tank when I receive it this week.

Yep - I have an Aspire coming and if I like it I will then buy a pyrex tank for it. I like top coils better though, so I have an iclear30s coming too, and if I like it and if they come out with an iclear30sg I'm there (g for glass!)
