5th tank of 50/50 peppermint (DIY) running in Iclear30s still performing like a champ...the first tank seems a bit muted but once coils are fully saturated works great...going to keep filling this tank and see how many tanks on the same coil before vapor/tastes decrese. The juice is clear and not very sweet so YMMV

I've had mine a little over a week, came with my vtr. Out of the box, it worked ok, filled it up with Captivape The Good ...., and noticed how much vapor it produced, but also noticed a slightly muted flavor. I let it sit, and wick up, and by the next tank, the flavor was intense. I noticed my juice darkened up quite a bit after being in there for a while, and the flavor started to mute again. Still on my first coil head, and now my juice is almost black, with very little flavor/vapor production and a slight burned taste. Overall, it works ok, I still like my PT2's better (and evod's for that matter), and will be purchasing a PT3 very soon. I started on top coil tanks, and once I bought an EVOD, I never bought another top coil clearo. As far as a top coil design goes, this is the best top coil clearo I've ever encountered, much better than the vision dual coil units I started with in July, but I still love the more substantial flavor I get from bcc's.

Has anyone tried these? I'm so intrigued. I'm glad that innokin finally hopped on the bottom wick bandwagon. I'm a dedicated user of the protank ( I have the original) but one thing that bothers me is that the seal is so airtight that you have to open the tank every now and then to avoid a burnt taste. If the new iClear 30s (or the protank 2 for that matter) improved on this Id love it. So what does everyone think about the iClear 30s?

I really like my iClear 30s. It's easy to fill and change heads, plus gives a nice big full hit.

On a brand new iclear 30s head i get a real funky metallic machine oil taste but after a few days it goes away. I let it soak and prime properly but still getting the nastiness in the beginning. Is anyone else having the same issue?

You are not alone in this. I have the same problem. Had really high hopes for this because I absolutely love my iclear 16's (even over the pt2), but I get that nasty machine oil taste with the 30s. I've cleaned the heck out them and went through 3 tanks of juice but can't get the taste to go away. Haven't tried soaking in vodka or pga yet. Fingers crossed that it helps.

Wow. Google is good.

I search "metallic taste on iClear30s" and get sent to this e-cig forum?

Where am I? What is ECF? :)

I have posted this on 2 other threads, don't mean to spam, but problem seems to be the same for a lot of people so: I have the Innokin itazte SVD with iclear 30 cartomizer. I was very dissapointed at first, but found a fix. Looked at forums, and it seems that there is different batches of the iclear 30, since some people don't have this problem.

I believe there is actually 3 different sources to the bad taste; machining oil from production, metal in the drip tip that tastes a bit of metal due to the alloy, but worst of all is the black o rings. They are not food grade, not even made of proper nitril. Dissasemble the whole cartomizer (be carefull w the tiny silicone o rings), rinse everything (except the black o rings) in hot water, then rinse it in vodka, replace the 2 large black o-rings with nice food-grade silicone ones, or at least standard nitril, same outer diameter and a little thicker rubber will be good.
(wash the new o rings and taste them, to see if they're ok. Try to stretch, taste and smell the original ones, and you will probably agree that's the problem)
A good advice is also to sand both ends of the tank flat w 400 paper or finer, the thread-ends have some rough spots that can be source of leaks.
And then if you still taste some metal, cover the metal drip tip with "sugru" or something similar, or put on a new tip.

My original iclear30 has leaking issues now after about 6-8 months. So I obviously need something new. I can't decide on the iclear30 b or the s. Can someone just break it down into plain English the pros and cons of each?

The 30S is a good clearomiser. I have one, it doesn't leak or gurgle. The B is a bottom coil which means that sooner or later people will report problems.
If you swill the liquid in the "S" and keep 1ml or more in the tank i.m.o. it beats everything on reliability.

Why do u say that people will report problems?

Bottom coil clearomisers are eventually going to leak for some users. It is inevitable. The iClear30 B was getting good reviews on UK forums (deservedly so) and suddenly, lots of reports of leaking (in the style of Protank leaking....).

I grabbed an iClear 30s at my local B&M and I honestly love this thing. Vapor production is great, it is SILENT, so much so that I'm always checking to see if my Provari is firing. And warm hits, I have never felt warmth while vaping until now and with this coconut rum flavor that is an amazing experience. I wish I could find a 5ml version of this thing. The only problem is it's polycarbonate not glass, and I don't know what the "tank-killer" flavors are. Though innokin says it won't crack with special juices so who knows.

I have a couple MVP's coming with the 16b, I can only hope they work as well.
