I made a template for people to use if they want to make their own skins for the VTR. You can get inexpensive pieces of vinyl on eBay if you search for "3d vinyl sample" or "snakeskin vinyl sample". The template has a 6 mm. overlap at the seam.
The template should be easy to cut with an Ex-Acto knife with a #11 blade except for the tiny vent holes below the firing button. You can use a
SE Leather Hole Punch Tool, Heavy Duty 2.0mm - 4.5mm using the 2 mm. punch for those.
Check your printer settings when printing the .pdf files and make sure they are set to print at 100% rather than to fit the page. Open source Inkscape should be able to edit the .svg files if you need to tweak dimensions. Also, most electronic cutter software should be able to import the .svg files. The .studio files will only work with Silhouette's Studio software for their Cameo and Portrait electronic cutters.
These files are for a single piece skin:

I wasn't at all fond of the way my VTR showed fingerprints but I liked the graphic so I did a skin using inset pieces of black 3d black carbon fiber vinyl set in some silvery gray vinyl. I don't think it would be practical to do this without an electronic cutter. Even at that it's pretty much an idiot's delight putting all the pieces in.
