Samsung phone explodes in Staley High School classroom
Kansas City, MO - Students at Staley High School in Kansas Cirty's Northland had quite the surprise when a student's smartphone exploded in class.
No one was injured when the Galaxy S 7 Edge caught fire, though the school did close off the classroom for the rest of the day.
Staley High School Principal Clark Mershon sent a note to parents which read in part:
"It must be a full moon. This morning, a student’s phone (Samsung) caught fire in a classroom. All is well, except for the phone. Parents of the student were called. The class was relocated to the library."
