Hello fellow vaper's, I just got home from my local vape shop The Vapor Room. I stopped up to purchase a few new 510 attys and cardos as I was talking to the store owner the vv (variable voltage) options came up. Since they only carry genuine joyetech merchandise I asked him when they were coming out with a vv mod. He stepped in the back room and came out with what i thought was a provari. Boy was I wrong he let me see it and it said joyetech and was a real nice unit. I believe he said it was a 2600 mah battery but was not vv. He told me it will do a constant 3.7 volts which would be a improvement. I was just checkin to see if anyone has seen them or heard of them???

My joyetech e-power (eGo-T mod) takes 18650 batteries and isn't regulated down like normal egos - It runs at battery voltage ( ? from 4.2v down to 3.2v ? ). I got mine as pieces (tube and switch) from Liberty Flights for under $30. Mine currently has a 3000 mah protected batt in it. Did the model you looked at take replaceable batteries?

Sorry but the e-power is made by Smoktech, not Joyetech. The word "ego" has become so generic that the lines have gotten blurred.
Some of the knock offs are pretty good units, but some of them are not. So use appropriate caution.

Here is a Smoktech made ego for you (pretty good unit from what I've been told)

The Joye 18650 is a welcome addition for those that are use to the regulated voltage devices.
I would imagine that there would also be many that would be happy with a 14500 model.

Yes. I just got my 2AA box mod few days ago after 2.5 weeks of waiting in the mail. I'm happy with it just because it's small. Combined with a LR carto, it's all I will ever need. My first proper pv was an Ego 650mah + LR cartos. With the right amount of nic, it's close to having a real cig. I'm not going to go any further than that like indulge on a shopping spree buying all kinds of big, fat mods. I don't even want to try them. I'll stay with what I have and be content with it.

Now where could I get one of those 2AA box mods where the cart connection is inside the box?

You're correct T, my response was too casually worded. I actually own both an Joye 18650 and a Smoktech e-power that uses 14650 batteries. I also imagine that many would be happy with either unit.

JoyeTech is widely renowned for its quality construction but I had some issues with this device. The Joye 18650 threads between the head and tube seem fragile (easy to cross thread) to me and they don't fully seat using batteries with a positive bump (they seat fully using flat ended batteries). I would have thought they could have designed it to work correctly with both with a longer tube and spring. The batteries last at least a day of heavy vaping but I found that the size/weight/bulk felt awkward in my hand.

I was disappointed that the Smoktech design used a different (larger) male thread pattern that doesn't fit ego-oriented accessories (it requires the use of a 510 to ego adapter). The only thing I've found that uses that threading is the cone made for it. I have not tried the Smoktech e-power that uses 18650 batteries, so I don't know if the larger e-power also has that threading. I haven't seen an e-power tube that takes 14500 batteries. The 14650 batteries last at least half a day of heavy vaping. The size/weight/bulk feels much more comfortable in my hand but I'm bothered by the design choice precluding the native use of all the ego accessories.

Your link above goes to a Dual Coil Cartomizer on the MadVapes site but it is easy enough to find the e-power parts page from the index on the left.

Just to avoid any confusion, I don't think the e-Power is a Joyetech product. Maybe you meant Smoktek?

Oops, sorry about that - didn't see "Page Two" of this thread before I posted that. I will now assess myself a fiften-yard penalty for "piling on".

(The eGo/Ego thing sure is confusing, isn't it?)

Hmm ... re-reading your post, I'm confused again.

"JoyeTech is widely renowned for its quality construction but I had some issues with this device. The Joye 18650 threads between the head and tube seem fragile (easy to cross thread) to me and they don't fully seat using batteries with a positive bump ... "

Does Joyetech make a power unit that takes 18650 replaceable batteries? It sounds as if you're still confusing Joyetech with another manufacturer.

    John,
Yes Joyetech makes the EGO-T Mod that takes 18650 batteries. It is available from Liberty Flights for under $30 Electronic Cigarette - Batteries - Joye eGo-T MOD .

    Very interesting, thanks for that.

I sure am glad I didn't say anything definitively wrong, which I had to resist the urge to do after scouring Joyetech's website and seeing absolutely no mention of that device.

    Two quick questions:

    1) The battery is removeable, and can be switched with generic batteries, like a Surefire?
    2) Do they make a (slimmer) 14650 model as well?

Thanks, and sorry about questioning your facts.

Man, what is with Joyetech and their refusal to go to 3.7 volts?

From Liberty Flights' description of the Joyetech eGo 18650 mod:

"Like other Joye EGO batteries, [theres] are regulated for a constant 3.5v output".

    John,
    1. The battery is removeable. I'm using Panasonic IMR and UltraFire protected batteries. The UltraFires have a positive bump so don't allow the switch/tube to fully seat (they work fine but increase the resistance on the switch head and don't allow the last thread).
    2. I have not seen a Joyetech 14650/14500 model, and I've been looking. I don't really expect them to compete so directly with their proprietary batteries.
    You're welcome and NP.
