TennDave, mine was bought in Oz, it has bars instead of dots and just the number 20 on the dial. The rba base seemed to fit fine and screws all the way in, maybe even further than the original base. The first time I tried to screw it in it tried to cross-thread right at the start, but was fine after that. Hope this helps. Still working like a champ.

Looks like I'm the only one having trouble with it so go for it I think it still worthwhile. Ok I've found if I keep twisting I get past a hard turn and then it does tighten down all the way- took a toke- nice!! Then no more toke- I believe it turned the eGrip off. I used an ohm meter and no shorting on the RBA base so I'm stumped. Unscrewed it, put regular atty in it- works fine. Put RBA back in, one toke and it's dead again. Help!!

Hmm, have you tried checking the resistance of your coil? It doesn't go below 1.2, not sure if you are using the premade or made your own. Have you tried hitting it with the base screwed in at different locations? Maybe slightly looser or tighter or somewhere in between? Or maybe check the threads or see if something came loose on the coil? I can only guess but if it seems to be working with the coil head and worked for a puff earlier on with the RBA then it sounds fixable.

I know this is a stupid question but... I have an Erip without the numbers on the scale, only 20. so will turning to the right (so it would be .20) go to 8 or count down to 19. I really can't tell much of a difference so could it be defective - I dunno.

I know its stupid but I swear there was no explanation in the manual.

I'm picking up a pink skin and the adapter as well. Not thrilled about the flat rate shipping cost ($6!!) but oh well. There are some really cool wraps on ebay for fairly cheap, around $7.50 each. Not sure if I want to wrap it though... I like the smooth metallic finish on my silver Egrip but I do worry about it scratching. Luckily I haven't dropped it as many times as my iStick..

I like the colorful vapor one on the right.

This steampunk/gears skin also looks really cool.

Hmm... to wrap or not to wrap.. and if I wrap, then it would be pointless to get the skin.

Has anyone used these kind of wraps? I wonder if it would leave the egrip sticky if I decided to take it off?

I have not in my egrip but had a jwrap on my vamo. It never left a residue. Check the base with it completely assembled. There is a spacer between the two pieces of the base. The bottom of the base is power and where the chimney screws on is the ground. I think, could be vise versa. Also check the threads where the base screws into the egrip. There is a wire, black, soldered to the threads. Perhaps it's getting caught and touching something it should not be touching.

Just got my eGrip (MIL is awesome). Checked it for all the issues those here have mentioned: so far, nothing has cropped up (haven't put it on the charger yet). Only problems I've found are the drip tip getting warm on longer hits (just put in a delrin tip), and feeling like I'm sucking my thumb

Debating the RBA. I rebuild my coils for my Kanger and Nauties anyway: not that big a deal to rebuild these, too.

Might get a skin, but only as a template to make a leather sleeve. Thinking this will be the bomb while riding!

The "drip tip" getting warm? Almost seems impossible since it's so far from coil and would also mean the tube in the tank is hot. Maybe you have hot lips.

I have the RBA and adapter on order. I'm not excited, but will see.
Since I got the Mega PCC for my Eroll, it's my go-to.
Maybe the RBA will make this amazing difference that you all talk about. The concept rocks, I think it's just that the form factor doesn't do it for me. After the Eroll, I tend to reach for the Istick with a BCC Mega.... I want the Egrip to be the be all and end all, but I don't think it's going to happen.
It's not the fault of the device, I just enjoy the replication of smoking.

I think the only way to restrict the airflow is to go back to the regular atty head. Btw, I was able to get the RBA to fire properly. 5 clicks- turn the mod off- then change the head, then 5 clicks and turn the mod on. It's worked flawlessly now! Wow, what a hit. I need to lower my Nic on this thing now!!

Does anyone know of other sites that carry the RBA adapter other than VapeNW? A lot of sites now offer the Egrip and the RBA base now... but I think they should have a "full" kit that includes the RBA base and adapter as well. I hope Joyetech comes out with an improved RBA base that allows some form of airflow control in the future or some way to utilize the airflow control on the device that doesn't involve plugging it up with random stuff.

Btw, is it safe to say you can get water all over the device as long as it doesn't get it in the USB hole? I rinse mine out fairly thoroughly everytime I switch juices... the tank, the drip tip hole, through the fill port... other than that very first time I rinsed it out and my device stopped working for a while, it hasn't done that since then. I think water got through the USB port, and every time since then I've had the hole plugged up (using a piece of scotch tape).

Strings I was the one that posted the leather covers. Ordered 3 on the 16th and an still waiting for a shipping notice. I have not heard of nor seen any others like these but I saw on the Joyetech site that they have silicone covers - but if is not clear when they can be purchased. Kyi- I agree, a full kit with adjustable airflow on the RBA would be nice. I would like an adapter too but don't see who sells them yet. I was measuring ohms with probes from an ohm meter right on the screws. I thought the RBA would be and end all but it won't be for my wife who has the airflow hole on her eGrip cinched down to a minimal level. For her I'll keep buying the regular heads.

Merry Christmas everybody!!

Thanks Dave! I have been having the exact same problem, I tried your way and so far so good. I was really bummed about the rba not working properly it's the only reason I got the egrip. After years of the Reo's and rba's I'm not fond on factory coils at all. Much better taste with the rba.
