Sent the following to Vicki at Cignot.com where I purchased my Egrip.

"Hi Vicki, my Egrip is turning off during the vape at higher wattages. If fully charged it will work fine at 20w but as the battery drains a little I have to turn the wattage down. Fine for a while but as the battery drains a little more I have to turn the wattage down even further. Weird. I have had to turn it all the way down to 8w use the entire battery charge and of course the rba floods there. I am running the factory 1.3-1.4 ohm coils and all three of them demonstrate the same behavior. Checked everything, cleaned everything. What's up?"

Her reply? Less than two hours later I received an email with the tracking number of the replacement Egrip with a return envelope included!!!!

If any of you lurkers out there are thinking of taking the plunge on an Egrip I can only recommend you order it from Cignot!

Yea you know what... I'm not sure what I'll get out of trying to get this particular eGrip fixed... I doubt the eBay seller will help me since the item isn't even on eBay anymore and the Joyetech site has not been of much help. I tried to send them an email but their contact form thing is horribly designed and probably on purpose. I'm tempted to order another eGrip and if I do it will be from Cignot since I wanted a wood one anyways. But with the random problems I've been experiencing with it, I'm not sure how well this device would hold up in the long run.

The seller was thevapeoutlet. The original listing doesn't even exist anymore so I can't even check the page to see what their warranty is. But I got it over a month ago so I doubt they will fix it for me either way. I have not tried contacting them yet but I will when I get home. I paid $55 for the entire kit and it was pretty cheap at the time. My next one will be from Cignot if I decide to get another one. I'm going to be ...... if I run into this issue again. I literally did nothing when this malfunction occurred. One minute it was fine. Next, it was blinking. I didn't drop it or mess with it. It still charges and lights up but will only blink no matter what I try to fire it with.

Can't you send in to Joyetech repair? The warranty card in the box says you can! From navigating their site, though, it looks like you'd have to email them to get the address etc.

Thing is, I am not sure if I can find the warranty card. I might have tossed it...Ugh bad idea I know. But I never had issues before with any mods. It would be great if Joyetech would repair it for me. I sent them an email so we'll see. Would it be unethical to buy another mod from Cignot and use the warranty card with that to fix my other eGrip? I would ask Joyetech to fix it of course and not Cignot. I think my device might have been a little faulty to begin with as this has happened several times before but never for this long. I'm still crossing my fingers that it will randomly start working as randomly as it stopped working.

Kyi, have you tried cleaning all the threads? Mine would do this on occasion if I pulled the base out for whatever reason and the contacts got juice on them. This was especially noticeable with the stock base and heads. I would have to take the head out of the base and clean the base out with a q-tip. Othertimes, if I pulled the center pin in the head down ever so slightly down to make better contact with the base, that would also help.

The warranty card lists the serial number - so presumably there's a serial number somewhere (inside?) the egrip!

I've cleaned the entire device, checked the threads on the device as well as the atomizer base, I've tried three different coils, the RBA base (which is not shorted I've checked with the RBA adapter), it is charged, it is fully charged, I've tried it in pass through mode, I've turned it on and off like a million times, I've tried almost everything you can think of except taking a hammer to it out of frustration. I'll try to look for the warranty card when I get home but if I don't find it, I'm either sol or if Joyetech is kind to me, they will fix it without it. I can at least prove when I bought it if an eBay screen shot is worth anything to them.

I gentlemen at my work purchased one and he stated that he was having a similar problem. He had read, somewhere on ECF, that there was a fuse inside the device. He took the bottom cover off and slid a screwdriver up through a small hole next to the battery towards the top until he heard a click, like reseting a circuit breaker. No problems since.

Well, the good news is that I found the warranty card and I realized I contacted the regular Joyetech site instead of Joyetech US, which I assume would be the correct people to ask for a replacement. I'm tempted to try resetting the fuse or whatever but that would probably void the warranty. In fact, their site says if you use liquid other than Joyetech's then you void the warranty.

I have zero problems with my pre-made Fasttech coils. I bought 50 for $3 and they will likely last me for the rest of this century.

Do you still got that link? We're up to 27 pages... I thought I had them in my cart. TIA

EDIT: Never mind, I found it!

had my eGrip for a week now, and I really like it! easy to hold, vapes great.. learning curve with the filling though. have the RBA and 510 adapter and a few pre-built coils- rewicking with rayon. had massive leaking issues until I realized it was missing an o-ring, so now I only have one spare. still kinda prefer the factory heads for ease of use- fluff the wick out the holes a little bit and it's great.

I've been through this entire thread, and it has been mentioned but could not find an answer- the Eleaf GS Air Coils look identical to the eGrip coils.. is it confirmed that they work? $8 difference!

Does anyone know the maximum voltage on the eGrip?

Egrip voltage range is 3.46-5.5v with a 1.5 ohm coil like the factory CS wick heads have.

Installing much lower res coils will still allow max wattage (20w) but will not allow min wattage (8w) because the chipset can't turn the voltage down that far (referred to as voltage bucking).

Installing much higher res coils will still allow min wattage (8w) but will not allow max wattage(20w) because the chipset can't turn the voltage up that far (referred to as voltage kicking).

It's a protective mechanism in the chipset which prevents over currenting the device. Nothing unusual, to see this in real time try some different res builds on an Istick if you have one. The display will show you min and max wattage and voltage based on displayed atty res.

Unless you have the Eleaf GS Air Atomizer. I'm speaking from 1st hand knowledge the eGrip & GSA use the same coils.

It was around post #500! The search thread function works pretty good though.

Thanks for the reply Cigatron.

So correct me if I'm wrong.

I have 2 eGrips. I use the black one for coffee and NET juices where I want the full 20 watts. Won't use it running less than 12.5 watts. So a 1.2 ohm coil will deliver the full 20 watts and the best battery life for firing it at 20 watts. Correct?

The silver one will be used for fruit juices which I vape at low wattage. So I would need a coil of at least 1.5 ohms to fire at 8 watts. Correct?
