ok. the new reply from rob when i asked about the center post being positive. he clarified that the charger should be with a positive center post, rather than having the positive charge coming from the threads. i assume thats whats going on in my charger. its a V2 Cigs charger. he thinks i should be fine. and that makes me happy. :)

Well none of the hard voltage data is ready, but do have the charger types and what can be used with it all good to go.

V4l wall and USB charger will not work at all
VGO fast charger- Worked, off load voltage after green was 4.23v. Put back on and let charge for 3 more hours to see the affects, came off at 4.31v. Would not suggest anyone use this charger.
Gen 2 kr808 charger from volt- Would charge it, off load voltage after green was 4.26v. Didn't leave it on long term due to the original off load...
Slim line charger from v4l- After green was 4.23v off load. Left it on the charger for 36 hours, took it off just to check the off load voltage was at 4.25v. After 48 hours was 4.26v, so it's safer to leave on long term than other charger you can use. The negative is this takes around 438-442 minutes to complete charging it (around 7 hours).
USB dongle- Doing the long term testing with this tonight since the slim line 2 day marathon is over. Been using the second batt as a charging time indicator, and for some short term usb pt/charging tests. Took it 233 minutes (just under 4 hours) to charge using the usb dongle from death. Starting off load voltages were 4.24v. Leaving it on overnight (9 hours) after fully charged resulted in an off load voltage of 4.26v. Slightly out of spec, but not the danger zone. Will be doing the full run tonight.

good stuff Morandir. keep it comin. whats the mAh of your battery? what the mAh output of the dongle charger? is it gen1?

how long did it take the volt charger? my Bloog charger took me about 7 hours to charge my 650. it wasnt completely dead before charge, but giving weak hits. id imagine almost 8 hours on my bloog 150mAh charger from death.

my V2 charger is 200mAh so i think it ought to be quicker, but the light always changes to green WAY before its done charging any batt i put on it so i have no idea when its actually done charging. im guessing maybe 5 or 6 hours from death.

i really want to get a quicker charger but seeing the results on your VGO fast charger...i just dont know. that ones 420 mah right?

900 mah Kemosabe sir on the batt, not sure what the ma rating is on the usb dongle though. It's the built in pt/charging port on the batt. On the volt charger (same as bloog) took roughly 9 hours (have exact numbers on the comp). The fast charger is 420mah, just be sure to take it off as soon as it's done. Leaving it charging unattended, well......

It really seems like, as all these batteries are switching between technology and becoming regulated, or need to be charged to a different point, they are moving slightly beyond basic flashlight technology. Cough up the couple of bucks and use the recommended charger and mark them to keep them straight. Seems that battery I charged with a different charger never really came back. I noticed my 650s would last as long as it would and it was 1100. Last week, it just stopped being able to take a full charge. It says it's charged way too soon and it comes off horribly under load. Might as well be an ego. It probably was a faulty battery but now I can't really can't ask the supplier to replace it knowing it may have been my own fault

This is a great thread guys, been watching with interest

Unfortunately for me (and fortunately for my wallet) I can't venture into fat batt or mod land until someone builds an auto with a negligible cut off (at least 8 real seconds, not the silly 8 seconds as defined by our honestly dishonest gen 2 vendors).

Manuals are only useful for me to check flooded cartos and DIY on an atomizer/drip cartomizer, and short cut offs are only useful for frustrating my friending ;) And after going unregulated V4L diamond I honestly can't look back. The regulated 3.7 gen 2 stuff is far too cool and damn stiff on the draw for me

Keep it coming boys!

you see, heres the thing. the charger for the 808 Ego does not exist. thats why i was going through so much trouble to find one that was suitable. i want the right charger, believe me. when i ordered the battery i was told the charger should be in in a weeks time. i wanted to make another order then anyway so i figured what the hey. the charger never came in. its still not in. so i kinda gave up on it.
sorry to hear about your batteries Charlz. i want to learn from your experience and not have that happen to me.

All Lithium Ion cells are 4.2vdc devices. Those that provide a 3.7v vape are unregulated batteries and 3.7v is what a 4.2v battery produces under the load of an atty. The ones that provide a 3.4v vape are generally pulse width modulated batteries (PWM). That means they produce a pulse train that varies in order to keep the vaping level consistent throughout the charge life. This is similar to someone pushing a button to flash a light on and off rapidly, producing a dimmer average light.

You will get a warmer vape at first from a 3.7v battery, leading you to charge them early as the vapor reduces in flavor as the battery loses charge. A 3.4v regulated battery will produce a cooler vaper, but will stay the same until just before cutoff.

That said, chargers are different in their current output that matches the battery's capacity. A few batteries have reversed polarity where the center terminal is negative instead of positive. You want to be sure that your charger matches the battery's polarity and charging rate. This is why a slim battery with a 510 thread will screw into an eGo charger, but overheat and ruin the battery if you use the wrong charger. 510 batts can't take the high charging rate of an eGo charger.

The above applies to all batteries. Be sure that the charger you use is correct for the battery you are charging.

Moranddir, I do indeed keep a eye on all my charging batteries. As a avid RC car and truck racer I have been building and charging battery packs for 10 years. People just will not understand the power until a lithium battery lets loose. Its not a pretty sight!!!

I have not as of bought a "808" branded eGo yet. I do however have a extra eGo-t battery that I have mounted a 510 to 808 connector to. That battery is my favorite way to vape the carts from Vapor4Life.
