My husband is way into vaping, and I'm trying to quit smoking too, I just haven't found a flavor that would be good for me. Everything he has gotten is too sweet for me, and I want to try something as close to a real cigarette as possible...just not sure where to look. He bought me a Volt from Smokeless Image if that makes any difference.

Your husband chose a good starter ecig for you. Were you a menthol or non menthol smoker?

Unfortunately, "sweet" is the nature of the eliquid. Both pg and vg have a sweetness to it but the vg is the worst for this. For non-sweet, anything by Dekang. It can be found at a bunch of vendors just do a search. If Dekang isn't something you would like due to it being out of China, you will want to go with a higher pg ratio.

Both actually. I started out on menthol, but in the last few years regular, except for when I'm drinking. I always either bought lights or ultra lights.

I would probably be ok with sweet if it didn't seem like I was biting in to a piece of cake every time I took a drag.

Taste is very subjective. I too wanted something that tases like those old stinkies, but not sweet. There is going to be a sweet tase to about everything but depending on your battery voltage + atty/carto Ohms will enhance the taste of the liquid. Also nic mg at higher levels produce a better TH. I for one wanted to try allot of fruity flavors when I first stated. I found I don't like any of them today, but might just change my mind when I get my Reo fired up this week hopefully. Some vendors list what some of their juice are patterned after. USA mix to me is a mild/light smoke flavor. Some like a cuban cigar flavor, and it seems alot like the RY4. I'm concentrating on menthol and Carolina Crush is my go-to all day vape currently. You being in ID, check out Rocky Mountain Vapors for good flavors/descriptions + good pricing & fast shipping. Its been said that finding your favorite flavor is one of the toughest things. I agree, but there are allot of flavors so try-em all when you can.

Smokelessimage sells RY4 which isn't too sweet. My first kit was a Volt too.

I've tried the RY4 from ECBlend and it was way too sweet for me, I only tasted the caramel, but my husband loves it and ordered a lot of it along with some Desert Gold with and without menthol. I'm hoping I like one of those. Have you tried the ECBlend RY4? I'm just worried they're all going to be too sweet

RY4 and 555 both have caramel in them and many are sweet. Some are not, but many are. RY4 is caramel vanilla and 555 is nutty caramel.

Go to V4L.com (same KR808D-1 threading Volt is) and try their tobacco sampler packs of cartos. I found my all-day-vape in their WOW Tobacco Shop (the one with WOWbacco, WOWboy and 3 others). And recommend their black delrin drip tip in place of the endcap - their cartos get hotter at the lip end than Volt cartos. (note - remove the drip tip when adding juice - easier to remove than endcap. And that's my fave drip tip for V4L WOW cartos and Volt/Bloog cartos)
