A little intro on myself. As the title states, I'm new to this whole other world of vaping that until about a week or so ago, I didn't even know existed; yeah, that new. Quite frankly, I'm lost and overwhelmed. I want to find a smoking replacement to help me quit but I didn't expect to or really want to stumble upon a potential new hobby.
I'm 33 and have been smoking on and off (mostly on) since about 15. I know I need to quit and with a young daughter, another on the way, and a wife that quit 5 years ago, I am constantly reminded of this.
So I was hanging out with a buddy of mine and mentioned this thing called electronic cigarettes to him and that I was possibly considering trying it to quit smoking (for the thousandth time or so). He looked at me, said "hold on", and went into his bag and pulled out a v2 kit. Turns out his fiance had bought them the couples kit to try and get him to quit (he smokes 4 p.a.d.!). I tried his and actually liked it.
So, this past weekend while we were out at the mall I stopped by a tobacco shop where I used to get pipe tobacco for my grandfather just to see if they had any. They had a Cig2o disposable so I bought it. They had some sort of cheap looking kit (think it was a 510 joye knockoff type) but he wanted $90 for it. I didn't like the idea that it was three piece, seemed like a hassle to start; and I didn't like the price too much. I figured I'd do some research on the interwebs and see what the online world thought of this whole thing.
For the past 3 or 4 days I have read so much that I feel like I've crammed for a college final. I'm getting a little overwhelmed to be honest (think I've already mentioned that lol). I started by looking into the v2 brand, which led me to reviews that mentioned others like Bloog, v4l, smoov, pure, blu, and on and on. Eventually I found this site and one other that I could read/watch actual reviews on the products and see what came recommended and what I should stay away from.
In the interim of all this research, naturally, my cig2o ran out so I was faced with finding another disposable or buying more "analogues". I bought a disposable from 7-11 and have just totally suffered with it for the past day and a half. Can't recall the name but it sucked so bad I just threw it out and bought a pack of Marb lights...and wow these suck after just a few days off of them. They taste like burnt dog and I stink again now.
I really want to figure this e-cig thing out and soon. So here I am, typing a freaking book (sorry about that) about my venture thus far. I don't really know if I have anything narrowed down other than I want the e-cig to somewhat resemble an analogue so the transition will be easier. I also like the idea of the PCC's in some of the kits. I've looked at so many kits that my head is spinning and I think I've got it down to Halo G6, SI Volt, Elite Vaporworks Signature 808, or Vapor4Life. Any support you all could offer would be awesome.
Thanks for putting up with my rant,
Shaun
Edit: The name of that horrible disposable was xhaleO2 btw.
