New members are restricted to posting in the New Member area until you have at least 5 posts and the server resets, once an hour. To get to the classifieds(where things are sold/bought) you have to become Verified. What exactly were you trying to do?

I would explain that this aty couldnt work since its base is not steal but plastic and then, there is no conductivity at all…

Hey, I'm in your exact same situation. I understand why they have this policy and as with other forums am always glad it is implemented to minimize spamming.
Having said that, it is still frustrating to get those first posts to be able to participate in the main forums. I do not want to waste anybody's time by posting things that won't be of any help :/

I think for the clear majority of cases, getting the person who has the question to join is better. Even if they post in a different language, there are people here that speak that language.

Logged in this morning and found over 5 pages of spam on this board. So that's not valid. It's a form of over-moderation, and nothing more. Be it due to lack of experience or not having decent anti-spam forum software. All it really does is irritate new people and make them post useless responses in order to get their post count up so they can use the rest of the forums.

That's completely incorrect.

The reason we do it is to confine any spam we can't get to immediately to one section of the forum. That would be this section.
That way the mods/volunteers have an easier time to clean up the forum for the rest of the members to use without dealing with spam everywhere.

But feel free to find a forum you enjoy more.
