Hi, my e-cigs have just arrived today from the U.S. I came across this forum by luck, spent a bit of time reading some of the info and then put in an order for the e-cigs.

I have given up smoking twice in my life and both times cold-turkey, the last time for 18 months. It's only lately that I have decided to give tobacco the shove for good, so I'll see how the e-cigs work. I realize there are no guarantees, but reading some of the members posts here has been very encouraging and to be honest, I'm at that stage in my life where I'm over cigarettes.

My theory is that e-cigs work best - as in, amazingly well - for people who are genuinely ready to quit tobacco. My strongest evidence is all the people who surprise themselves by discovering that, once they've started vaping, they no longer want to smoke, even if they didn't intend to use vaping as a smoking cessation tool in the first place.

Hey Fair Dinkum, just saying g'day from another new aussie vaper..

My wife & I started vaping a week ago.. all good so far, wouldn't be smoking analogs at all except that we've got 1/2 pouch of champion to use up. . and we didn't order enough juice to start with. Having about 2 analogs a day and I'm starting to go off them :) If I have a rollie I still want to vape after, but if I vape I don't want a rollie. So it's working great.

I put up a post of our reactions here if you're interested. Can't post a link (yet) but it's in the new members forum somewhere.

Can you tell me where you ordered from in the U.S.? I thought that most US wouldn't deliver to Oz, so we've only been buying from Heaven-gifts (who have been great so far). We are looking for some extra options tho, and I think the US has some good juice flavours etc.

I can't say I was ever, really, READY, to quit. I always LOVED my analogs sooooooo muuuucccchhhh. but the e-cig still worked for me. I smoked AND vaped for about a week ( smoking just naturally decreased without much effort.) I am now just over 2 weeks analog free. Except, I had a really terrible, bad day night before last. i THOUGHT a cigarette would make me feel better. Lit up an analog SEVERAL times, took one or two drags each time..... it SUCKED. Tasted sooooo nasty..and I was SUCH a HUGE addict (at least 1 1/2 pack a day for 20 years) That little "crisis" just proved to me that I no longer want or need analogs. Despite my minor setback I still consider it accurate to say....

Hello KiteStyle,
Thanks for the welcome. I'm West Aussie does it still count?:)

Yes I am, I'll hunt around and see if I can find it.

I ordered from Vapor 4 Life (V4L) and it only took about a week for it to get here. I bought a kit and about four bottles of juice etc.

Cheers Timtam that Juicy Vapor has some crazy flavours! Prices on the US sites are more than three times higher tho.

IMO it's not that expensive. You shouldn't be using that much, and considering the price of a pack of cogs here it works out to be a lot cheaper.

It's best to buy now, with how the AUD is going.

Yes I was a Champion Ruby bloke as well. Started smoking Marlboro analogs at 21, went to Winnie Blues and started on Champion Ruby when I went back to smoking about 10 years ago. Tailor made's - can't stand them!

Absolutely agree. I drink ice coffees when I smoke, so you can imagine what that costs per week. Funny thing is, I don't drink them whenever I have given up smokes. Hopefully I won't drink them now that I'm giving up the analogs.

We're tossing up going back to Brissie or else moving to Bunbury area... WA's nice.. good kitesurfing! Too many flies tho

V4L has reasonable prices on juice, I'll probly get some to compare the same flavours from different suppliers. Have a look at heaven-gifts before you order next time, it's the cheapest I've seen and we're really enjoying the tobacco flavours from there (555,cuban, MBL marlboro,ry4). I think Vapour King = KR808 if you're looking for more accessories outside V4L.

Re prices, dunno about you guys but we're addicted to buying e-cig stuff.. need more spare batts& atomisers, a PCC, lots more juice. Plus we're off camping on Straddie so we need car chargers and car-to-usb connectors and usb passthrus etc etc because we don't want to run dry and have to go back to analogs. Plus I'm already hanging for a Juicebox, or a Bartleby, or that new german one with the pump built in.. it's gonna be expensive for me. 8-o Still I reckon it's money well spent even if it costs more.

That's kind of what I meant in the rest of my post; I didn't think I was ready either (pack a day for 25+ years), and I didn't even start vaping in order to quit smoking. However, since that's what happened, evidently I really was ready to quit; just not aware of it at the time!

Do we have flies here? I'm originally from the country and my work takes me to the bush, so I guess I'm used to them or maybe I just put up with them.

Thanks for the info, I'll take a look at some of those alternatives. I bought the Vapor King Ultimate Ultimatum Manual Kit. This came with:
2 Automatic Batteries
1 Manual USB Passthrough
1 Portable Charging Case
1 Carrying Case-Your choice of Color
1 VK USB Charger
1 VK Wall Charger
1 BOX OF 5 VK CARTOMIZERS- Choose one Flavor/Strength

I also bought a spare packet of cartomizers and four bottles of Nobacco Juice (different flavours).

I believe with myself that so much of it was habit. Working away in the bush I have very few limitations on where or when I can smoke, although it is starting to change. As someone who smoked rolly tobacco it's amazing how many times I would throw the cig away and I had only smoked half or two thirds of it. A complete waste, as well as a waste of money.

Heh we drove up to Exmouth from Perth, and there were some places where you would easily have 100-200 flies on you if you sat still :-x I've got pics of my back where you can see more flies than skin. Maybe it was just a bad time for them?

Heh I was pretty much the same, Winnie blues, B&H, Marlboro, then finally Champion Blue. Wouldn't touch tailors for the last 6-8 years..

Also check out healthcabin before you buy any more, I've just spent way too much money there on another order. Check the 'xmas specials' they have some juices like 30ml for $6, cheep! A good way to try some new flavours.
