Hello Guys!

Been lurking on the forum for the past week or so learning an incredible amount about eletronic smoking and decided to take the plung the other night and order one online.

Been a 'light' smoker since I was 16, smoking about 10-20 a day and really noticed a decline in my health already at 20! so I think this needs to change!

I tried quitting once before with the nicotine patches but I had an insane reaction to them, went to see my GP and got the recommanded dosage for how much I smoke etc.. put the patch on one morning, come the afternoon I was lay on the floor, sick, couldnt stand up, pounding headache etc.

I'm presuming this is just a classic nicotine OD? I really do hope I dont have a similar reaction to vaping as the patch, I'd rather do without the shortness of breath after a single flight of stairs and all the coughing and retching in the morning.

btw, the PV i've ordered is the DSE 901 Elite start kit from Liberty Flights UK :)

Thanks for the welcoming :)

I suppose I will be able to regulate my nicotine intake with a PV unlike a patch, I can go pretty much 6 hours without having smoke, but'll end up smoking neigh on 20 come the evening, rather than a constant stream throughout the day.

SD, Screwdriver mod right? I'm pretty much oblivious to what that entails aside from a bigger battery... I've not even looked at doing anything like that considering the amount I smoke in a day, I'd imagine that I'm not going to tax the device too much. Unless I get really taken by vaping and puff along all day, which I can see happening actually...

Just charged and tried out my DSE 901! I must say the experience is so far good...aside from the flavour

I got the Hilton flavour juice, it sounded good... but so far the vapour tastes JUST like a fog machine and has an...intresting taste, not disgusting, but not overly pleasant either nothing like that of a analouge thats for sure.

I didnt shake up the e-liquid before I filled the cart, should I have done? or is the hilton flavour just an aquired taste! lol

I've just ordered 5 x 5ml bottle of various flavours from TW to try out, see if that helps

Samples are the way to go...I ordered 20ml of "US Mix" on my first juice order thinking I would like it...it was disgusting! Half of it went down the sink. :D

Welcome to ECF, and I hope you have a better experience with your e-cig than you did with patches, sounds like you had a pretty nasty (and scary) reaction to them.

Hello Samuel and Steven,

Nicotine patches are pretty insane to my way of thinking. It's as if some chap in a lab coat thought "How do smokers administer their dosage?", worked out that it was at intervals with gaps in between and then thought "a continuous low dosage is what they need, then". Quite bonkers.

Good luck with your vaping. Thankfully not all e-liquids taste the same, and you've done the right thing by getting a selection to try. It's natural to expect them to taste of tobacco, but most don't. Once you get into it the variety of flavours is a bonus imho.

Enjoy! :)

Samuel Yes get some samples and try a few flavours till you get one you like.

Personally I could not get on with the Hilton when I started last year.
I ordered it because I saw rave reviews
It does take a little while for your taste buds to kick in after smoking cigarettes so dont chuck it, put it aside , store it somewhere cool and give it another go in 2-3 weeks time.

Just steel yourself quickly because the SD crowd are about to bumrush you. Don't be alarmed, it's not a bad device.

I was actually just being friendly :D
I love you too ;)
