I've been trolling these forums for 2 years, and finally decided to join the party.

As for my "vape story"; it's an odd one (to me) ... but one I've heard a few times.
I was a smoker for 13 years, ages 14-27; finally getting off the sticks in 1997.
However, the nicotine NEVER, EVER let me go. About 3 years ago, I started trying the
gums and lozenges. These were too strong, and rather gross in my opinion. I really
really really missed smoking; but was able to resist going back to the pack & lighter
routine.

I began researching e-cigs, tried a few brands, and was not satisfied. Upon visiting
my local vape shop, I went with an eGo starter kit. It was awesome! Forward to today,
and I'm happy with rebuildables, DIY liquids, and a couple of DIY mods. This appeals
to my engineer's mind ... two-for-the-price-of-one! My nic levels vary from 3-6; and
sometimes a 0 liquid does the job.

Still trying to get my Father to try vaping and get off the sticks. He's been back and
forth for 40 years.

Anyway, glad to be here, and appreciate all of the info. Cheers to all of us for
having better smelling clothes!

~Carl

Welcome to ECF, NCCTC! Lots of us lurked about for awhile, before joining. I promise you, joining is far the better plan! Get your new a Member posts in, then jump into a few different threads. I'm sure many folks will be happy to hear your perspective. BTW, there are a fair number of 50+ year olds who smoked for several decades on ECF. There are even a couple of threads kind of dedicated to us. I'm sure your Dad would be welcome, even of he's still smoking. Worth a try?

Your dad might do better with the KR808 cig style with cartomizers. I am 60+ longtime smoker and that is what got me off of cigs. Going to go to the Variable voltage ego style with clearomizers and cartos but that is llikely as far into the world of rad vaping as I will go. I have done a lot of research and watched lots of vids on it on youtube and think the VV 650 ma batt and a kanger T3D clearo will be good for me. A small pocket vape.

Welcome to the board! There's a great deal to learn about this hobby and you can find out all of it somewhere in these forums.

A bit of irony here. My son is named Carl and I smoked for 50 years. I gave it up and got into vaping and then introduced it to him. :)

yeah same here, working on getting my son off of analogs too and into vaping.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll do what I can to get Dad in here; and I think it's a great idea. After my being off the sticks for so long,
then going to vaping, he's is curious. That's a start. Thinking of doing some research on vape shops near him, and setting him up
with a starter kit of his own. It's tough seeing him "sneak out" on the back porch when we visit.
