Well, I decided this past Saturday to stop in to one of the 3 Freedom Smoke shops and see what a decent starter kit would cost me. Tired of smoking and want to quit. After an hour or so of asking questions and trying to decide what flavors to start with, I ended up with the joyetech ego-t upgrade setup and bought a Vivi Nova 2ml tank. In one unit I have a menthol and the other is Chai Tea.

All said and done, it all cost me 125 out the door.

Later, I learned that I could have saved money by ordering online. The question of "how did I do? seems to be common, as I have asked that also, but then it hit me, yeah, I might have paid say 75 bucks more, but I have it right now, AND, more importantly, if I don't buy another carton of cigarettes for a few months, this thing will have paid for itself and I still have something to show for it.

Edit to add:

I opened the last pack I have on Friday evening. Started using the e-cigs as soon as I got the juice. As of right now, I still have 8 cigarettes left in that pack. Normally, I smoke about 10-12 cigarettes a day.

Anyways, looking forward to reading more here!

You were right to buy it when you did. Much better to spend some cash and time getting on to vaping RIGHT NOW. You've got a good setup there - keep with it! You might want to get a spare device to go on top, in which case I'd suggest an Evod and some spare heads. They're not expensive and they work very well.

Congratulations on getting a real decent setup. I think you chose well for equipment. I hope you enjoy it and you will find that although you may have been able to get it cheaper, count it as the best spent money you will ever spend in your lifetime. I'm so thankful I found out about vaping 2 years ago. I never thought I would be able to quit smoking and vaping made it virtually painless. I actually enjoy vaping way better than smoking. Here's a good video to watch about the Vivi nova, plus this guy has alot of other great videos as well. I learned alot just by watching videos and there are videos for virtually every Ecig product out there. It's a good way to see if a product is something you would want and how it works. Good choices, virtually all of us spent more than we could have done on our first kit. It doesn't matter, if you hadn't bought it, something might have distracted you and you might never have ordered a kit at all.

If you want a cheap generic back up kit and don't mind waiting a couple of weeks for delivery this is $20

I love it so far.

Will be surfing fastech for a mod as there are a couple that I like so far, but I still have some learning to do with this stuff.
Well, this is definitely the place to be then! Just guard your credit card. After hanging around here for a while and hearing about all the goodies, it might just get worn out!

Thanks for that link!

I think in addition to that kit, the Kanger Protank is something I'd like to get also, not too mention more li-ion batteries for a couple of laptop packs that need cells replaced.........lol

Oh, I failed to mention that a few years ago, I tried an e-cig setup, the smaller cigarette style setup up and just could not get into it like I have with this Joyetech set. I understand now that there is a huge difference in the purposes of them and I think that had I started with something bigger than those "social smoker" e-cigs, I might have quit smoking a long time ago. Needless to say, better late than never!

Before you rush out and buy a Protank (which is big) try an Evod which will be a better fit size-wise for your set-up. It's a bottom coil clearo just like the Protank but you'll save a bit and it'll probably look better imho..

BUT BUT BUT.....I really like the look of that Protank........

!!!!

Guess I'll have to get a mod that will match the diameter!

Yeah, I think I will do the evod/ego set as a back up to start with!

Hi! I also payed to much for my set up but for me it was buying flavors that I found out I don't like! I also went to a brick and mortar near me and found they don't allow tasting of the juices so I bought three of them. (Later found I am more of dessert vapor than a tobacco one so the flavors I got just sit on my shelf). I am glad it's working for you, good luck!

Save those flavors. They may be better after steeping for a couple of weeks. But, just as importantly (especially if you're a new vaper) your tastes will change. First, they'll change as you adjust to not smoking anymore. Second, they'll continue to change for a while.

So, save the juices for a while to be sure.

And, welcome to ECF! Make yourself at home!

Welcome to ECF. There are about 6 different B&M stores in Tucson. Southwest Smokeless on Pantano is my favorite. They have a couple of mods maybe not as cheap as fast each but they aren't bad. I bought a K100 there pretty cheaply. Personally, I'm not a big fan of EVODs. I just had one start leaking when filling it. I prefer the protanks. I'll probably get a few more. I also use the vivi Novas and they are good. Don't throw away the vivi heads, they are rebuildable.

Do all flavors "steep"?

I have "menthol artic" and "chai tea". The menthol is clear while the chai seems to have gotten darker?

Hard to say, but I let almost all of my new juices steep for 3-4 weeks. I'll try them occasionally while they are steeping. I have a watermelon (from FSUSA actually) that was real good right when I got it. It may have gotten a little darker after 3 months, and the flavor may have gotten a touch better but not much. I also have a peach that doesn't get a chance to steep much since I use it pretty quickly.

Just wanted to say a quick thanks! I am pretty new to vaping but I am slowly finding out what works for me!
