Hi all, Just received my ego-c from absolutelyecigs.com, and I'm wondering if I have bought a cheap pirate copy of the joye version, that isn't working like it should. I put it together after reading the manual, and charged it for about an hour until the light on the charger became green. So I assumed it was done charging although it said five hours in the manual. Oh well, I started using it and it seemed to work fine for maybe an hour, then when I push the button, it makes some weird sparkling sounds (sort of like a fire giving off sparks). I tried changing the atomizer, but it didn't help. I'm worried something is burning when I vape, so I'd appreciate if someone could shed some light on this situation, and let me know if it's safe to continue vaping and if I can just ignore this sound.

Is it like a snap, crackle, pop sound when you are vaping?

That's a pretty normal sound from atomizers, fresh carto's and rebuildable's as well.

I'm trying to remember if my EGO-C did that as well and I believe it did. I haven't used it for a while but it's sort of the sound of vaping. That kind of snapping sound when you take a pull.

If you're not getting some strange burned taste it's probably just normal operation.

Thanks for the quick response, guys.

Yeah, it is sort of like you described, but the reason I started wondering about it is because I've watched videos with the ego-c twist, where they get a sound, but it's not exactly like that either. It's more like one or two sounds instead of several. Maybe it's just me taking lighter drags. I guess it's no worry either way. I'm trying to figure out if the taste is burned or not, but I don't have a reference and the taste I started with is coffee, so it's a little hard to tell for sure. But tomorrow I'll meet someone who's got another type of e-cig, so I can compare and see what he thinks about what mine tastes. I'll report back.

Vape on it for a while longer and the sound will go away. If it's coming from the atomizer you are all good. I can't see a sound like that coming from a battery anyway. Some devices like Boge cartomizers have an extremely loud snap, crackle and pop when they are first breaking in. They are much louder then an EGO C. I did put a new atomizer in my EGO just so I could see if it was making the noises and it is. You have no problem as far as I can tell.

The burned hit...you'd know when you get a burned hit. It's a really bad taste. Even without a basis of comparison you would know because it's a taste you can also smell and it's quite bad.

Thanks for the info. I don't think I've had a burned hit then. Happy with my new device, it seems to be working well after all. Slight leaking, but I guess that happens in most cases. Cheers.
