Good Afternoon,

I'm new to the forum and e-cigs as well. I've tried Blu and although they weren't great I could tell theres likely better out there to replace my regular smoking habit.

Lot's of great info here for me to read through! I'll be looking for a decent setup at first, the idea of adding liquid to the tank thingy (not sure on the technical term just yet), seems like my type of setup. I travel allot so a large battery makes more sense.

So many options out there, e-pipe, e-cig....a ton of configurations in between :)

Having trouble locating good B&M shops in my area (eastern PA), or Chicago. Any help would be much appreciated. :)

edit: I should note I'm looking to keep the initial startup cost everything included to $150.

Thanks All
Jon

Welcome to the site! I can not help you with local B&M shops around but I can say you can get some great starter kits for a descent price that includes all the basics you will need to get started. There are several good websites around that will have starter kits for around 50 - 100 that are good starts and will give you enough left over to get a bunch of different sample flavors. You should then be off and running. My suggestion would be to look for kits that have 2 batteries in them so you have a backup should anything ever happen to the first battery as well as when one battery dies, you have the other to vape on while charging. It is also a suggestion to find batteries that uses 510 and/or ego threading (just look in the description) that way you can just then get different tanks to try until you find one that you like.

Here's my recommendation:....(they're not local, but, hey..)

http://ivape.net/index.php/Starter-Kits/iTaste-MVP.html

They work great, comes with 2 clearomizers (what holds and vapes your juice)

Also works as a passthrough, meaning you can plug it into a USB and vape whenever.

Plus the little guy can charge your phone, pretty neat.

Then go here and get their RY-4, it is truly amazing(extra flavor is a must):

RY 4 Tobacco - eLiquid Flavor - ECBlend

This will only spend under half of your budget, and if you want another mod later, you still have a battery bank with the innokin. You will want to buy stuff when you start vaping(everybody does, trust me :D ), so save the money when you can.

Good luck! :)

Welcome Jon. Nice decision.
With $150 you can buy a decent set dont worry.
Whatever you do get more than 2 batteries, 2 clearos and several heads (Changable parts when the vapour is not enough)
Choose your liquid with high nic rate. You can dilute them with plain vegetable glyceryn. (i.e VG in liquids) if they are very hard.
And never look back my friend Find appropriate set and liquid you can get along with (Until you make this a hobby than be carefull not to break the bank)

Wow thanks all! Great replies here.

I had to fly out to Chicago for business early yesterday but got a chance to stop by a local shop there.

Picked up an eVic, pro2 tank, and some liquid. I'm sure I could have gone a cheaper route but the appeal of a big battery and options got me :)

Happy to say that since mid day yesterday I haven't touched a regular cigg. That's a pretty big for me.

I need to pick up some extra tips and maybe a spare tank for the flavored liquid so I can mix it up during the day.

Pretty happy though!

Thanks for all the advice. I'll be picking everyone's brain on favorite liquids and such.

Cheers
