Hi all! Longtime lurker here and I thought it was finally time to introduce myself. I was a pack a day smoker for almost 25 years, with a few years off here and there due to pregnancies, but I always went back to the smokes. I originally tried e-cigs back in May, with the Smokeless Image Volt, and while I really liked it and it got me down to around only 3-4 cigs a day, after a while, and several stressful situations, it just wasn't doing it for me anymore and I just went back to smoking.

Fast forward a few months, and after deciding that I was ready to give it another shot with something better and thanks to all the great information that I have found here, I am proud to say that I have finally found a setup that is working for me and I have now been off of analogs for 13 days! I now have an e-go twist and a couple of other regular e-go batteries, along with some Kangar T3S and Smok Aro Pyrex tanks, and have found some juices that I love.

When I first started up again, I weaned myself off the cigs, and when I got to my last pack and the last few in it, I just decided that I refused to buy anymore once they were gone. That was 13 days ago and so far, so good! Yes, I have craved a cigarette from time to time, especially when around my boyfriend who is still trying to go fulltime with the e-cig, or when I was stranded with a flat tire on my way to work last week, but I haven't given in. The last few that I did smoke didn't even taste good and these juices that I vape are just so much better, so I don't know why I would ever want to go back to the stinkies!

Now for my question...when I first started back in May, I purchased quite a few juices, and over the past few months, I had them stored in a tin I had found. One of the juices was root beer, and when I originally received it, I noticed it had a really strong smell, but didn't think much of it and so stored it along with all the others. Now that I'm back into vaping, I went into all my juices and I now notice that all of the juices that were stored with the root beer seemed to have picked up the flavor of that one juice, to the point of where I don't want to vape them, somehow peanutbutter cup and root beer just don't mix well . Luckily for me I had my favorite juices stored in another box, but I feel all these are ruined. Have any of you ever had that problem, where one juice has tainted others, even though they were all sealed but just in the same general area? Is there anything I could do to the tainted juices to make them better? I hate to have to throw it all away, as it has to be about $50 or more worth of juice.

Sorry for such a long post, but I'm really excited to finally be able to call myself a non-smoker and just wanted to share my experience!

Hi and welcome to ECF.

Congrats on giving up the smokes!

I have had a similar experience with strong flavors seeming to leach through the plastic of the bottles. I have gone so far as to consider buying glass bottles and making my own labels for them, but haven't actually gone that far yet. As for making them better, I suspect that once the flavor is affected, there isn't much you can do, short of experimentally mixing them with other juices to see if you can make them livable.

Good luck, HTH

Thanks devauto! Yeah, I kind of figured they must have leeched through the plastic, but was surprised at the extent of it. And I hadn't even had a chance to try all the juices first either. I now know to store my extra potent juices separately, but don't have too high of hopes that I can salvage many of them. The root beer just seems to overpower everything and it certainly didn't mix well with my cherry limeade! Oh well, gave me the excuse to order new juices, and I'm currently waiting on my last order that I made thru the Black Friday sales to come in. So far, I've found a couple of new juices that I just love! Can't wait to try more!

I transfer everything to glass bottles. They aren't that expensive, you can pick them up at a DIY shop or even Amazon pretty cheap.

Thanks for the suggestion. I might look into that, especially for my really strong smelling juices. Hope this doesn't sound stupid, but when using glass bottles, how do you get the juice out into the tank, since you can't squeeze it like a plastic bottle?

dropper tops. I got my bottles from here: Specialty Bottle - Amber Boston Round Glass Bottles

There's only one juice supplier that I use that doesn't use the glass bottles already, all the rest do (Gingers, AiV, Halo, Fancee, JDVapor)

Thanks for clearing that up for me squee. And thanks for the link! For some reason I just couldn't envision how to get it out. I will definitely have to order me some. I don't want to waste any more of my juice!
