Hi johnjub. Welcome to the ECF.

Quitting Smoking was the ONLY reason for me.

I didn't care if e-Cigarettes Cost More, which they Didn't. Or if the Tasted Bad, which they Didn't. Or if they were Hard to use, which they Weren't.

Only if they Helped me Quit Smoking. Which they Did.

And for that, I am Eternally Grateful. Because Nothing else I had tried worked. And I had Tried to Quit Many Times in the Past.

I have only been vaping for about 8 days, and I have not had a cigarette since.

I used to smoke half a pack of Winfield Golds daily for 14 years. Yes, I got into vaping to quit smoking. I'm glad to report its working.

Currently I am vaping heavily on 12mg to 9mg nicotine e-liquids. I hope to gradually cut down on both the amount of nicotine levels and how much I vape.

On another subject, I bought my wife a vape pen for xmas. I am not sure being a beginner if I am allowed to mention brands or not so I won't. We had about 5 days of frustration trying to get the thing to work. Finally after getting new charger and trying countless times to get it to hold a charge we discovered the battery was no good.
I would like to know if I can mention brands or not. Thanks

To be honest my doctor told me the nicotine is the least of your worries smoking cigs.
And your Doctor is correct. Nicotine is not the "bad guy".:)

    Yes, you can mention brands/suppliers.

Did you return it to the shop/store you bought it from for a replacement/refund? If ordering online have you contacted the online vendor?

    Hi johnjub,

There are literally plenty of options out there as the market has been flooded with vaping devices all throughout the year 2015. Its a buyer's market.

    You could try:
Innokin Endura T18: Priced around USD$30. Simple device which best replicates the "feel" of smoking.
eGo One VT: Priced around USD$50. Temperature controlled device for the newbie.
Check out online forums and Youtube for more details on these devices.

The above is of my opinion only and was drawn from reviews and feedback from other vapers. I have only tried out my Kanger Subox Mini Stater Kit thus far. Whilst I love this device now, I must admit there was a learning curve involved. If I had to try quitting cigarettes all over again, I would definitely pick the Endura T18 and eGo One VT because the learning curve is minimal, the devices are priced reasonably and one can purchase replaceable coil heads very easily.

AND.... they appear to be good quality devices. Quality and reliability should be important as well.
