Hello everyone,

My name is Catherine I am logging in from a currently, very hot and smoky, usually beautiful Southern California.

I normally use the PHIX E-cig but I had to return it to the company for an exchange. I have only had it a short time and it is already having issues. Don't get me started on that problem.;

What I am trying to find out today is about the EVDO batteries. This is what I was using first. Just for background info, I have purchased two different sets with battery, charger and tank included and one battery alone and one charger. I have had to exchanged the battery four times because after using it for less than 1 week, the battery will no longer screw into any of the chargers. thus I cannot charge it. All the batteries have failed this way.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there anyway to solve this issue?

Is it possible to open the battery compartment to see what the problem? or is that considered too dangerous?

I would appreciate any help I can get. I am currently in the hospital for a fractured femur. I have been here six weeks. One more surgery to go, so I can't get to my local vape shop and my daughter won't go for me. HELP!

Those types of EVOD battery for an eGo style atomizer are not really user serviceable, so no, you should try to open the battery yourself. There's noting in there you can do anything about. They're also not in nearly as much use these days.

It may be time to change to a different pod mod than the Phix. There is a whole section here about pod mods. Vape Pod Systems
Good luck and feel better!

Didja mean evod batteries?

Sad to tell you they are not user serviceable and the quality of stick/pen style batteries has gone down hill tremendously, I wouldn't suggest them to anyone.

Do you mean the threads in the charger seem stripped?
Never over tighten just snug enough to make contact.
Have you tried thoroughly cleaning the connection points on both battery & charger?
Qtip dipped in rubbing alcohol, scrub each until clean.

Maybe a friend could go by a local vape shop & pick up a simple all in one or pod type.

Thank you for the response and advice. I am not very happy with Phix but I had just bought 3 refill packs with 4 pods each and the system was not cheap to begin with. Also, I just found a hack that shows how to re-use the pods!

Any recommendations on other systems

Thank you for the response,
Tried the clean w/alcohol and all the rest. It does not look like the threads are stripped and this had happened to 5 different batteries within 1-2 week of purchase. I think they are probably just crap and thats why nobody uses them anymore. When I started using these systems, it was to quit cigarettes. It accomplished that! Now it's more for the enjoyment.

Any recomendations on a new systems?

If you're fond of the Evod and want to with a similar setup from Kanger:

Kanger Kits

The Evod/eGo style has been one of the most cloned/counterfeited styles in the vape market. I know for a fact that the vendor linked above carries only genuine Kangertech equipment.

If you're looking for a box mod that offers a similar vape style, the Aspire Zelos and Innokin Endura kits are highly recommended.

Pods... meh, they have their ease-of-use advantages but their technical limitations pretty much paint you in.

Hi and welcome. The Evod types are not too useful, IMHO, although like most people I started there and it was they convinced me I could quit using vaping. There's nothing user serviceable in them, don't try. The quality of them varies a bunch, and none of them are intended to be anything but disposable, as are all built-in-battery power units. I'm sorry you're having trouble with your Phix, but I can't help there. I don't use pods-- not sure I have ever seen one outside the box-- and know nothing about them.

I would just buy a better tank and battery, plenty of sets that should suit you. There is the Pico 25, which comes with either the Melo II or III (I would recommend the Melo II version if you get that kit). There is also the aspire zelos starter kit that comes with a Nautilus 2. That's what I usually recommend for a step up setup from a tube mod that is older. Both kits have rechargeable internal batteries, (well one Pico comes with a removable battery these days) but they would be a step up without being overwhelmed with new equipment. Plenty of other good choices as well.

I personally wouldn't go with a pod mod at this time, there are better (and less expensive) options out there.
