Hello All!

Been lurking the forums for about 2 weeks now and finally decided to join in the fun...
I should be getting my first bit of equipment/juices delivered today (YAY!). I've been a smoker for gosh, I don't know..20 years or so and I'm realllly anxious to put them down for good. I've read so many positive stories that vaping=quitting analogs here that I'm convinced I'll be able to be one of the positive stories, too.

I'd like to ask one question if I may, and forgive me if it seems silly...
I've been looking into DIY'ing the juices and I see that you can purchase Nic/PG and Nic/VG bases, but can Nic be purchased straight? I haven't seen it anywhere like that, so I assume no. Just curious about it.

Welcome to the forum. There are a lot of great people here to help you out if you ever have a question. To answer your above question I have never seen just straight nic I believe you either have to buy it with pg or vg. There is a vendor who sells it at great prices. Check out My Freedom Smokes. that is where I get mine and as for flavorings I would check into The Flavors Apprentice, One Stop DIY Shop, or E-cig Express. E-cig Express is having a sale right now till the end of the month I can't remeber right off hand what their code is but check in the supplier forum and I am sure you can find it there

Well, let's see...I may have over-bought supplies, I'm not sure! I ordered manual and auto 808's and one manual 'disposable' 501 kit, several charger options, a passthrough (501, i believe), hopefully the correct adapter for 808/501 stuff, nic'd PG, plain VG, several flavors and misc bottles and syringes, extra cartridges, and a couple drip tips. I did not get a PCC, though I think I may need to get one of those, too. All in all, I spent a bit over $300 and I'm still not sure I purchased the right things. I couldn't decide on 501 or 808, or manual/auto, so I got 3 different kits to try. I figure what I don't like, I'll pass along to one of my other smoker friends and hopefully help them kick analogs, too.

Problem with ordering was that even though I spent large amounts of time perusing the forums and several vendor sites, I couldn't really get a handle on what parts and accessories I would need. So, hopefully I've gotten a decent enough variety to find something I like, then I can focus on learning about that particular piece of equipment and go from there.
I'm such a noob to this that I'd prefer my equipment to look similar to regular cigarettes, which, I understand will probably not be my preference for long.

I can't say enough how valuable this forum has been to me. I almost ordered a kit from V2, but quickly found out that I'd be better off staying away from those highly advertised/mall kiosk type kits. I ended up ordering from madvapes and myfreedomsmokes, because of the comments I found here about them.

Oh, regarding the nic question...I looked at the link you gave (thanks), but still am only seeing nic with pg or vg, but no plain nic alone. Not that I need or want it, just was curious if nic ONLY came with pg or vg.

just a quick hello and welcome! I am new in a sense myself....well to the forum somewhat but this is my second time with e-cigs and I am sure I will stay with it this time. I am sure you will be happy that you choose e-cigs to. so again welcome and good-luck.

Thanks goofygirl, may I ask what put you off of e-cigs the 1st time around? I'm happy to have any advice at all that would help me avoid going back to regular cigarettes. Today *should* be my last day of smoking. (If that darned mailman would hurry up and get here with my stuff!)

honestly ran into some money issues and couldn't get more supplies in time and then had some really stressful things come
up at the same time. I wish I had not waited so long to get back on the e-cig bus. I was doing so good the 1st time around. had gotten my taste buds back and just felt so much better so this time I can't wait to start feeling good again! one thing I can tell you is this- if you don't like the first one you try don't just give it up because there are many different styles and you will find one that is just right for you. I wish you the very best! and the great thing is , is that quitting or cutting down this way is just sooooo much easier. again good-luck!

Buying straight Nic is available....look in the DYI section of ecf.....however, it is very dangerous in higher dosages and not highly recommended unless you have the correct tools and maybe even a little chemistry background(my suggestion) Plus it is so much easier to buy the nic already in pg/vg that normal users like us really shouldn't have a need for it. jmo.
