Long time reader. First time poster.
The first thing that initially turned me off was a thread by a user showing the inside packing of a pre-filled cartridge after usage. There were burn marks on the media used to hold the liquid. Later, I learned that there are the two type of cartridges, disposable and reusable. It doesn't seem like the polyfill burns in the reusable ones. My previous expierience with similar devices include the Vapir Oxygen (awesome device). Lasted about 2 years of heavy use. And now the Volcano. At first I went to the local tobacco shop and picked up 24mg liquid to vape in my Volcano using the provided steel wool pad, well that was the original goal. But I can't unscrew the inside and insert the pad. So I just added some herbs (dagga, euca, etc.) and dropped two drops on the top. I used two for my heat setting. Two correlates with approximatley 288 degrees on the Volcano. I used that because I had previously read that the atomizer runs around 40 to 65°C. measured via thermacouple. So around 149F, I assumed thats around what the drops would get to, since they were at the top. I filled up the bag and could definatley smell the propylene glycol vaporize. I took a hit and it felt extremely harsh. I always tend to play it safe when using new chemicals or devices. So I just stopped. In fact, I actually changed the bag. As I found the residual taste left behind unpleasent. So this bottle of 24mg sat around for about 3 months. I went to the same tobacco shop recently and they had a slew of flavors and assortments and allowed me to exchange my flavor. I picked up Peach and also an e-cig. It actually almost seemed that it was more harsh at first, but this is definatley working. It takes some getting used to, that is for sure. I was also never a big smoker 5 cig/day if that. The concept of this device and harm prevention intrigue me the most. Eitherway, just wanted to say hi.
Anyone else try e-liquid using the steel mesh provided with the Volcano?
