Hello everyone, new to this forum and wanted to say hello and let you know how my vape experience started. I hope this can either entice you to do the same or at least get you over that fence.

I've been vaping since 02/20/2014 and haven't looked back since. I don't even know how I use to smoke analogs. I'm proud to say I feel a lot better and smell a lot better now. I hope that some of you that might still be thinking about switching to vaping, do so or those that do vape never go back. It has changed many of our lives and it's for the better. I do want to say that, yes I use to smoke and vape and one might not understand why you would do that, but for me, I believe it was because I just hadn't found a good ejuice that I could come to like to make me not want to go back. I believe that if one has tried to vape and can't switch, it's because you haven't found an ejuice that you like more than analogs. There are many juices out there and so many to try. They are not all the same, similar but not the same. Everyone has their own taste, there will be a juice you don't like but someone else does and vice versa. So try and sample as many as you can. Some juices might grow on you, or you might think you don't like a flavor but until you try one, you might love it. Just keep trying. I thought I wouldn't like strawberry flavors, because I have tried them and didn't like the ones I tried. Now I have a strawberry milk flavor that I love. So try it, nothing can hurt from trying something, be open minded because you never know. It might be what puts you over that fence. You'll thank yourself later for it.

For me it started out one night at a local vape shop and I was sampling juices like crazy. I came across a company called Suicide Bunny and tried all their flavors and like one called The O.B., I bought a bottle and was vaping it at the shop for a few ours. I had a few analogs left and said I'm going outside to put money in the car meter and have a smoke. Since I was vaping that juice that evening, I went ahead and lit one up. As soon as I took that first drag, I almost threw up and couldn't believe how disgusting it tasted. I immediately threw the analog away and crushed the rest of my pack up, threw that away and never looked back. I'm so glad I did. Good luck to everyone on your journey and to those on your journey now.

Steven

Welcome to ECF Steven! Everyone has a different story here... yet in many ways the same. I gave up analogs in just 3 days and was amazed that I was able to do so with ease. I spend a lot of time here lurking and learning lol. Only off the stinkies for about 6 weeks now but never going back!

Thanks ceeceeisme and great to hear. It's so much better and welcome to the club. Like I said in my post. You will change and adapt and thank yourself late for it. Or you might have already thanked yourself. Give yourself a pat on the back for quitting as you will only feel better from here on out. Good luck and vape on.

I absolutely DO feel better - did in just a few days. Sadly though, I seem to have contracted a severe case of "shiny-itis". I've bought 6 new devices in just a bit over 6 weeks and I think I may need a 12-step program to stop.

Welcome, I have been off analogs for a week using the V2 EX which will be moving away from shortly. I also was surprised how quickly I got off the analogs stinkers. I wish I knew about vaping sooner :)
Kero, glad to see you've made the change. Keep it up and don't give up. Seems like you haven't though since you've been vaping for a week now. Good job! better now than later.

Lots of different devices out there too. You'll figure out what you like and what type of vaper you are soon enough. I'm currently vaping on a Sigelei Fuchai 213 with an RTA(Rebuildable Tank Atomizer). I love building coils, it's a hobby I like. The more I do it the more I learn and want to push even more into more advance coil builds. I also use a Serpent Mini from Wotofo. I have a Kangertech Subtank Mini in my arsenal when I don't feel like rebuilding or just want a change in vape. Good luck.

LOL. Oh the joy of making mod purchases and having new shiny things with buttons to play with. The internet doesn't help with that since it's so easy to buy things on it. Hold yourself back, I know you can do it. Don't go crazy as the vendors will be releasing a lot of new mods with the new regulations coming ahead before the deadline.

Thanks, I have not looked back and have no interest in analogs anymore. Not event the slightest desire to have another one.

Yes, currently sorting out the next step device wise and helping two others along the way, see post below if you are interested

Glad to hear you won't look back. I will check it out and give my opinion, but first I'm off to a late dinner.

lol I can relate about flavours... hubby likes stuff that I wont touch, the tastes make me shudder, even though they smell fantastic... he's all deserts and I'm fruit and candy and it turns out my addiction is easier to feed. we're both geeks who build our own comps, he's a mechanic and I was tech support until recently, but I got the rebuilding addiction. gods shineyitis... thankfully mine is restricted to tanks more than mods and I'm resisting the urge to buy more than one brand for now... I absolutely love the kangertechs, the interchangebility of the coils between their various tanks and their RBA's... I've not tried to do the protank 4 RBA yet, still perfecting my single Clapton coils, I can make those .5s every time now. because we're both subohmers, I really need to get into the DIY, especvially since I am DtL... seems I use a lot more juice than he does, but it tastes sooo good.

Nice, yeah I'm into bakery and some fruit flavors. They taste so good I can't get enough. Coil building is fun and sometimes not so fun. Like when you need a new wick and coil but it's so late all you want to do is sleep. I'm just getting into clapton coils and fused clapton coils. I'm currently using a pre-made staple clapton, I think that's what it's called. The core is a ribbon with a 32ga kanthal clapton. I ordered some wire and I'm going to attempt my own. We'll see how it goes. Not sure what you build on, but I find that a velocity style deck is easy to build on and allow room for those advanced coil builds. I'm using an Avocado 22m atm, but ordered the 24m, still waiting for that. This tank is made by Geek Vapes. I think they make some really nice stuff and at an affordable price. This tank though is a genesis style tank, it sucks up my juice like nobodies business. Flavor is great and so are the clouds. I'm more of a flavor guy but I like to see some cloud too.

the toptank mini single coil RBA, the protank 4 RBA is a dual velocity style. I have to buy my wire pre-twisted and claptoned etc, I just don't have the dex/hand strength(torn medial tendons) to really twist a wire with a drill, so I concentrate on getting the wire coiled and to the ohms I like best... usually between .3 to .7s. waiting on a slowtech order with more wire so I can make some more interesting combos for the tiny decks. these videos have been a great help, even if I cannot setup the wires ahead of time, I can work on the coils themselves. he's got a whole series.

Yes, thats the coil and I've seen the video. Thanks. I want to make that. The pre-built coil I'm using is made by Demon Killer and although they call it an Alien coil, it's not. It's more of a staple coil. The other thing is that it doesn't use multiple ribbon wire like in the video, it uses one. The other thing is the core wire is actually a 0.3 * 0.8 claptoned with a 32GA. I haven't been able to find anywhere that sells that kind of ribbon. All I could find was 0.4 * 0.1, 0.5 * 0.1 & 0.8 * 0.1. Seems to me that it's a custom made ribbon for them specifically. So I ordered the 0.8 and will use 3 of them to replicate the same thickness. I'm also going to attempt a coil named the caterpillar coil, I believe its a clapton or a staple clapton flattened with a jeweler's hammer.

Not sure what you're paying for wire, but Lightning Vapes sells really good wire and it's at a good price. I think you can use LV15 for a 15% discount. They might have free shipping with no minimum order, but don't quote me on that. Sorry to hear about your torn medical tendons but, if you haven't already invested in a coiling kit, it's a good investment. It makes work of them coils quick, easy and perfect every time. Coil Master make a good one that I like and the V4 is updated to accommodate claptons and more advanced coils. I'm always weary of knockoffs when it comes to these things, although it's pricey for the coiling kit from Coil Master, you can still find it for a little cheaper than what they have it for. I got mine off Amazon for $19.95 from a seller named DJ's Goods and can vouch it's an authentic product. Have fun building and coil away.

lol... things are a bit different here in the Great White North. Amazon.ca sells that same kit for $74.20 CDN. I bought one off Fleabay for $22 USD (with free shipping from China) and had it in hand less than 2 weeks later. I have not started coiling yet but will soon as not only do I have a mod problem but also a tank problem.

Welcome and glad you joined. I did almost the same thing. Could not believe how bad the smoke tasted. Reminded me of my first tobacco puff years ago only more sickening.

for now, I have a very basic coiling kit coming( $6.07 Coil Maker Pro Ceramic Tool Kit for E-Cigarettes (5 Pieces) - ceramic tweezers + coil jig + ceramic coiling poles (2mm/2.5mm/3mm) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping been waiting a month already and my poor abused fingers!), and I really need to pick up an ohm reader instead of using one of our kbox'. since I'm rural, it looks like I need to buy one online, I'm just trying to convince my hubby just because he likes premade... and I need to steal back all my comp building supplies like wire cutters, pliers... damned mechanic... but that's another story lol. once I know I can make things decently and consistently enough, I will buy the spools, till then the 8" sets will do me. all my builds need to be pretty compact anyhow with the toptank and pro tank 4 rbas anyhow.

They should be called SlowTech lol. I placed an order for a Pico Mega on Aug.29th and I still don't have it allthough the tracking number says it did arrive in Canada on Sept.29th. I am assuming it is still in customs but I am hoping to have it before the weekend (but this being Thursday I am fast losing hope :( )
