I have read that this is the place to get any questions I may have answered. I already know a good bit about mods etc. But, my question is about my stingray clone. It isn't a crunchy button issue although it is related to the button. Every couple of days I have to take it apart and sand off a black build up on the magnets. What is this and what can be done to prevent it in the future. Thanks all for the time in reading this and hoping to expand my knowledge. Peace.

Hi cykotik1 and welcome to ECF. I can't help you with your problem, I don't have that mod.

I do have a couple of thoughts about it though. Why does the buildup bother you? The magnets are not part of the electrical circuit and unless it gets really thick, which I doubt (but I've been wrong before ;)) it shouldn't affect the device.

It sounds almost like ferrous dust. Do you work near metal manufacturing, or have a railway/subway line near your work, commute or home? Both of these can put enough ferrous dust in the air to cause magnets to pick up a deposit over time.

Edit to mention that it would be conductive too, so it could make the device stop functioning once it got built up.

The stingray clone button is very hazardous. the damn locking pin is to short and binds up, making it clicky and, can lock it in the firing position, destroyed a Sony VTC4, and melted a drip tip, burnt the chit out of myself too, from an accidental locked firing pin.

Also, the magnets are much weaker than the Authentic ones. My Fix was to swap out the silver locking pin with the one from my Nemesis clone. Fixed the glich switch. Now it's to fatdaddy's I go and upgrade the magnets.

Think your magnet cleaning might come from the lose lock pin, and its metal shaving/dust from the sloppy fitment.
