Message: <blockquote data-quote="bombastinator" data-source="post: 23698066" data-attributes="member: 43994"><p>My understanding is while 510 is generic, nothing else is.  It was the connector on the BLU (an old cigalike that still exists mostly because of that)  but they screwed up the patent so it’s all over the place now.  It didn't happen with a magnetic one though so that is still proprietary.  Being effectively a common connector was so useful that it became the only one that got made for a long time.  There are a bunch of magnetic adaptors but they’re all a bit different.  If someone that makes one screws up a patent again(unlikely) it may happen.</p></blockquote><p></p>
