When using a mod, you can usually just
- unscrew the adjustable center pin out,
- then screw your topper in
- the screw the center pin in to make contact with the topper.

With the SMPL mod, people who don't undertand that the topper center pin needs to stick out otherwise they short out the battery are playing Russian roulette
and people that do understand, ought to figure out how to the common adjustable topcaps on most mods.

If you end up with a few mods, you can end up just leaving topcaps permanently onto your toppers, effectly creating a hybrid topper and never having to put wear and tear on the 510 threadwell.

Smpl not good? What do you recommend.

I have a couple chiyou's and a king mod; they have the same m21x1 threading as my vamos and zmax.

The topcap in the photo I just took is a flattop version from a chiyou; I chose that one for the photo because its relatively thin. That topcap I actually ordered separately.

I don't like the stingray mod, but the one I have has a loose center pin (no screw, no spring, nothing).
But according to my measurements, it adds only 2 or at most 3 millimetres to the total length.

Thanks edyle, I'll have to look into that closer. Don't want to start off on the wrong path. That's just what the stores in this area recommended. Told them money not an issue, want the best.

If money is not an issue, look at the high powered regulated mods. Sigelei 100watts; ipv v2 etc.
Not sure if the Provari 3 is out yet, but if it is, it's one to look at.

Heck if money was a problem I'd recommend looking at a vamo10.

I have mechs really for backup purposes.. and......... a place to store my batteries! until I get some kick modules for them; so far I have only 1 kick module
